It's kind of tricky, to be honest after living here for a number of years. Finding an elevator will sometimes take extra effort at the train stations as they may be -out of the way- also, many places are small, so trying to enter with a wheelchair or even a stroller can be irksome. This is not to say all across the board it is bad but please plan the places you are going and try your best to avoid the cramped corridors, restaurants...etc

My mom is asthmatic, so whenever we go traveling in the cities, I scout on ahead for elevators to and fro the train station, they're usually just within the area, but often hard to find.

@theeighthhour
@theeighthhour 13 күн бұрын
@@isaza5716 Maybe my perspective as someone who's autistic can give some idea. Note that as far as I know Johnny Somali isn't autistic and I hope nothing but bad things for his future. When there's something innate that people hate about you and no matter how you try to change it or even identify it you fail, you reach a crossroads. You either have to keep trying to change it and hoping one day you'll succeed and wear a mask well enough that you'll be accepted, you stagnate and go on accepting that you're hated as the deformed piece of a perfectly symmetrical puzzle, or you commit to being a villain so that you're hated for justifiable reasons. Then you not only know why you're hated but you regain control over the situation. Johnny Somali aside, there are worse things than being hated and plenty of reasons to want to be hated. It's a trap though.

Hi! Chris and Pete. I know Chris isn't interested in football. But I think J.League would make a good documentary. Baseball gets a lot of coverage because it's affiliated with TV stations, but the J.League doesn't get any coverage because it's not. The J.League is run by volunteers. There are many touching stories of volunteers at Ventforet Kofu, which Pete talked about. Nao Ishikawa, a legend at FC Tokyo, is at the forefront of the volunteers. They picks up trash before games. They grow vegetables on their farms and sell them at the stadium. They visit schools, prisons, etc. to give talks. Are you interested?

Are there any hotels/ryokan at all that have a shower in-room? When I looked it seemed there were none, and my fiancée is too shy to try public Onsen but we just wanted to see the town itself. In 2014 I had a 10-day vacation centered in Tokyo and exited the JR Station at Shibuya after dark on Halloween. The crowds of people standing in the crossing were blocking traffic despite police with megaphones trying to get them to clear out so traffic could move. l had also read an article where there was a group of Japanese trying to get the government to ban the observance of the holiday because it wasn't something that originated in Japan. I will say COSPLAY is something identified with Japan, and Halloween is an iconic cosplay holiday. I remember walking in Shinjuku on that October 26 and walked by five girls walking the opposite direction dressed as bloody nurses. They do like to jump into costume for almost any reason!

Pete could go to the Toyota factory tour if you're going to Nagoya. There is also a Toyota museum, but its more like a collection of all historically significant cars - Packards, Peugeots etc - while the factory tour shows how they build Toyotas (with a JZX100 partway through production). The Century was supposed to be a special hand-built coach-buildy thing special ordered for high ranking businessmen, so it would be interesting to find the story of how they're made (I've seen an old VHS video about exactly that) - this also makes them difficult for the yakuza to obtain. I went to Isuzu Plaza in Tokyo a few weeks ago and it really surprised me - it was all fun and interactive, and the history of the company with their British connections was interesting so I highly recommend it. It was also very popular with young families - I guess since kids like trucks.

Hello Cromulon Chris, and Pendulum Pete. Yo, it’s Moe from Australia Sydney. Last year in the overcrowded Shinjuku square on new years there was a crowd surrounding 2 hobos fighting and covered in blood. No one was stopping it so me and my mate had to stop them. 2 minutes later they were fighting again and we stopped them again but I had to grab one from behind in a rear naked choke and pull him away. Then later he comes up to me with his friend and pulls his hand out like he’s gonna punch me and I flinch. But he was actually trying to shake my hand lol. Then he’s like “is that jiu jitsu? And I was like yeah haha I thought u we’re gonna hit me. Then like 30 minutes later, still in the overcrowded Shinjuku square there was a dude passed out in the middle of the crowd while everyone was still just watching as his mate tried and failed to wake him up. I thought he was dead. Literally 10 metres away like no medical emergency was happening, there was a group of people dancing with loud speakers. I’ve got video footage if u need it for proof lol.

Viewers might enjoy seeing what’s over there, how to get there, and some of the real history on the island. For a short few day trip going North to South or vice versa might be neat. Also there’s a ferry that goes to South Korea from Tsushima, probably out of scope for a short trip but might be cool for a different video.

I saw an article months ago describing how the fence was removed only a few weeks after it was erected. Not sure if they implemented other measures (no loitering, no photography, etc.) Or if they just realized that there is the family mart a block away with the same view. It also wasn't due to the tours alone. Tours are good at keeping people moving along, usually. It was more due to the hundreds of daily randoms that would show up and loiter blocking the sidewalks with tripods and group photos and disrupting the locals. I imagine the conbini preferred the crowds otherwise.

When it comes to tattoos and visiting temples/shrines I plan to bring a blouse (or something else that's thin and has long sleeves) to wear while there. I mean, if it's generally seen as respectful to cover your shoulders and/or tattoos to visit a church, then a shrine or temple deserves that same respect from me. And as I'm never wearing shorts or skirts on a holiday anyway, so just covering up my arms during the visit seems not that big of a deal.

And potential anime animation? Also, should I buy Japanese sim card and hire a guide that can speak in Korean/Japanese fluently? I'll maybe going to Japan for 5 days, maybe more but I'm not sure which Airport to suggest my Dad to choose lol. Love your vids!

Hmm. Take Pete to a prefecture that you don't go to very often! Or, maybe instead rent a Kei-camper van for a quick cheeky glamping night or something. No tents, that is what the tiny Kei camper is for.

Idea: I want to see you guys pay homage to the "the way of the runner" exploring whether was was written still exists. I'd watch just to see team become a relay squad. And have a wry smile to think "i did that"

Recommendation for things for Chris and Pete to do: GaijinTuned in Tokyo, a Tokyo Drift-esque night. Make for good JDM car content on the main channel too.

Somewhere interesting to maybe do a video about I think would be the various motorsport race tracks that have closed down and have been turned into solar power farms. There's 3 or 4 race tracks in Japan which have all had the same thing happen within the last decade, the biggest and most notable being Sendai Hi-Land Raceway. Also just visiting the Japanese Formula 1 Grand Prix from a regular persons perspective could be interesting as it's a pretty unique atmosphere compered to other F1 events to begin with.

My suggestion for when Pete comes over is to do a bar crawl live stream. Maybe with Conner and/or American Pete. Could be Tokyo or Sendai.

I think on the Main Islands but you guys should go to the Southern point Hateruma, Japan's Southernmost Point Monument. 日本最南端の碑・日本最南端平和の碑・波照間之碑 and Western most point Yonaguni, Monument of the Westernmost Point in Japan 西崎(日本最西端の碑)

I went to Japan with a semi-large tattoo prominent on my forearm. No shrine/temple attendant batted an eye as I walked by. I did/do pack an arm sleeve just in case, but the most negative reaction I got was some old man growling at me at 6am on my morning stroll - which I found more comical then anything else.

To be fair with Japan in regards to shibuya Halloween parties. They're harsh on it for a reason Because Halloween is this foreign holiday. People found it an excuse to make complete nuisances of themselves like the gaijins do and party like it's an American spring break. It wasn't just Japan that took up this new tradition though. Korea and Hong Kong did it as well. And famously Japan got harsh on these events because of backlash of the massive crowd crushing in Korea that caused several deaths. Japan was already pissed at all the littering and property damage and assaults. But now that the events have caused deaths. Now the government is fully justified in banning these street parties. And frankly? It should have never been that wild in the first place. Acting like a bunch of spring breakers is never good. They're a public nuisance. Don't let that be a cultural exploit for other nations to emulate.

Loads of decent techno and house nightclubs in Tokyo. You have to pick the night in many places though. That and a lot of the best places don't really advertise.
