the dancer's use of the mask gives the show a dreamlike, almost unreal and timeless appearance

The potency of the dancer is even stronger because she's wearing a mask. It's like watching her soul doing the work of enlivening the body through a sublime performance.

I'm practically illiterate when it comes to dance, but her precision and grace mesmerized me... the small detail that caught my attention is how gracefully she exits the stage, after bowing to the audience, completely in character. Thanks to this performance I'm in love with baroque dance.

So graceful, and animated; like a danced poem - a masked woman gliding through the space. The hand gestures are especially expressive and nuanced. The intricate foot work accentuates dancer’s relationship to both the earth and the air. 👏🎭🎼💗

An important aspect is that she does not hide her mask - it is plain to see, above her hair,. This is a dancer under a mask that hides individualism, feelings, humanity. What emerges is a cold, perfect dance.

Brava, Mrs. Caroline! Your point on historical dance movements has gotten me hooked! I was a former ballerina years ago until I ended up being bored to death.. Five years later, I stumbled upon this fine artistry of historical emphasis rather than conventional classical ballet, which can be acknowledged thoroughly as a performance method. 😊 Thanks, Mrs. Caroline Copeland, [rather than the other same named celebrity], for educating us all!!

There are three original choreographies of the period! (1 french one from Pécour 1712 in the Gaudrau Collection and 2 of L‘Abbée from London - one version for solo and one for two women with nearly the same steps).
