My wife and I saw this one month ago. Very moving, very inspiring, and completely unforgettable. A spectacular production. My wife’s brother and his wife saw it in 2000 and told us to try and see it someday. We started planning 5 years ago. Got postponed by the pandemic, but eventually we did get to travel to Oberammergau and witness this for ourselves. Grateful we did.

A captivating documentary which deserves to be seen by far more people. The dedication and commitment by the inhabitants of this beautiful town is truly admirable......and it's so wonderful to see family members of all ages involved in this epic production. I envy the opportunities they all have for continuous creative input into this ancient tradition. It is all remarkably well staged, and so imaginatively well designed into the bargain! A real feast for the eye.

I used to drive through Oberammergau on my way to Garmish when I was stationed in Germany. I had no idea it was the site of the original Passion Play. It was only after I got back to the states that I learned this. It is an absolutely beautiful city that I always made time to visit during my travels.

My Great Grandfather Yngve from Sweden traveled Germany in 1934. He arrived to the Dresden train station at 17:10 the 17 Aug. At 20:00 on a field outside Dresden he listened to Adolf Hitler's speech. He visited Jubiläums Passionsspiel Oberammergaue in 8. 8.1934 and he got a room at the Passionsspiel director Anthony Lang

As part of my 'honeymoon on a budget' trip during June 1990, Bavaria was one of the places we've visited. (Was a fitting start of our matrimony. Back then I had no idea about many 'things'.) Why I wanted to go here? Probably fascinated with one of the darkest time in history. Also visited the Eagles Nest which had a rather strange energy, recall. Didn't see however the yellow-white flowers, my grandmother saw / noticed when visiting the place - during the drugged, mind controlled crazy male stayed there. When one checks wiki, there is a list of people who visited A.H. probably trying to figure out his real intentions. Anyway, the ''King's Lake'' area was just one of the place, the others were Opatia/Croatia, Venice-Rimini-San Marino/Italy, Salzburg and Kaprun/Austria. Really beautiful places, suggest to visit them to everyone. 'Amata' anyone?

I wonder if there is one Jew among the many actors? Probably nein (none). That says a lot about the whole gentile production since Jesus was a Jew, his disciples were Jewish, and the New Testament was written by Jews. What has happened to the Jewishness of the Gospel with the teaching of 'replacement theology' by the Christian Church?
@mattpearce43134 жыл бұрын
So do you think they should only have Jewish people playing it? I’m sure in order to be historically accurate they should have 0 german actors..... Do you even know the origin of the Passionsspiele? Inform yourself :)
@dennispearson92872 жыл бұрын
All of The First Christians were Jews !!..But In Order To Fulfill Jesus Commandment To Go Into All The World and Preach The Gospel to Every Creature , Eventually Gentiles Heard The Good News of The Death , Burial , And Resurrection of Jesus Christ , and By The Power of The Holy Spirit , were Born Into The Family of God !! As a Gentile Believer , I Praise God For The Jewish Roots of the Church !!!....
