The boys have referenced the “make up call” quote from an NHL ref. His name is Tim Peel and he was essentially forced into early retirement (he announced his retirement at season conclusion) after the audio made its rounds. Sad that the NHL did that to him given that this is and always will be a thing in hockey. Refs are like the players, not perfect. Players understand and respect that. But still a respected and very accomplished ref didn’t get to get his “last game” as he had planned with his family and friends in attendance. Just thought anyone who cared should know the story. Tim Peel is one of the most fair and best refs to ever take the ice. Any NHLer will tell you the same if he ref’d their game
