Of all the ships to get an alpha canon bump, I'm happy it was the Pathfinder.

My only big gripe with this design is the deeply recessed secondary deflector. It wastes an unnecessary amount of frontal saucer hull space by being set so far back. Very impractical. Interior space has always been at a premium with this class of smaller ships.

My guess is they did this in order to maximize the power of the secondary deflector using whatever technology they implemented in this design. But in this case this can’t be really called a secondary deflector, which means that this ship actually has two deflectors. There is also a possibility that this deflector is being optimized for combat usage.

It's memory alpha but it doesn't show up on the star map. Maybe it does, I don't know.
