I highly doubt he makes it off a practice squad and ever into an NFL match. He may make an NFL roster on practice contract and go through training camp but will then likely be cut sometime in July/Aug and return back to team Wales rugby. The athleticism is there, but the mental adjustment to competing with athletes that are just as athletic and have been training in the best leagues in the US just tends to be too much. Almost every elite international athlete I’ve seen in these types of training camps has failed and the ones that don’t tend to be kickers or big lineman (equivalent of forwards). Skill position players like QB, WR, RB, DB never make the transition because the decades of mental / technical catch up is just too much.

In my opinion; if LRZ is even half decent at the game, then it would make an incredible marketing opportunity for a team like the Jaguars who play in the “London games” to pick him up, imagine the hype that would come with a rugby superstar coming home to the UK to play an NFL game, I imagine the jerseys would be selling tenfold, the coverage would be even more hyped than usual. In terms of NFL in the uk it would surely be the biggest game yet! I think every British and maybe even European NFL/football fan wants to see this guy succeed and see what he could do in the NFL.
@Ethan-Entah9 ай бұрын
I assume you're reffering to the Jacksonville Jaguars (I'm a rugby fan from Wales & no very little about NFL) Of all the teams that's the one I'd like to see him at most as I'm also a pro wrestling fan & him going there would be the thing to actually get me to care about Tony Khan's "football" team. Outside of Daily's place being AEW's home during the pandemic. The 6 Nations toirnement starts this weekend & wish Louis was avalible for it, but if he is able to make it over there (which he should, he's amazing) I'll actually keep up with NFL.
@user-em1ig7xo9d9 ай бұрын
@@Ethan-Entah Yes mate the Jacksonville Jaguars. And thank you for your comment because you are an example of exactly what I am thinking, the fact LRZ is simply trying to join the NFL has already gotten your interest enough to want to pay attention to the sport, should he make it then they will gain your attention and many many others. A lot of British people who follow the NFL don’t really have a team or know who to follow, so any team who signs up LRZ will gain so many fans. I hope he can make it, I’ve seen many arguments for and against whether he will. The sports are very different even tho they seem similar in many ways.

This absolutely could happen. NFL owners have been known to dictate who their teams draft despite consensus from team GM and scouts. If he can make an NFL roster it is a massive accomplishment. I love the theme of the 'uncommon' or being different and embracing that. I hope that program has lent on the recent phenomenon of Australian punters, is that has really encapsulated this line of thinking. They came into the game and by being uncommon have revolutionised the position and in a way made it their own. They bought their own specific skillset and talent, and were able to make it work in the game to the point they became the leaders in that position and now future punters are learning their style.

He’ll be back in autumn this year almost guaranteed. I’ve been watching NFL for decades now and have seen these crossover athlete scenarios many times. Typically what happens is a team signs them on practice contract to go through training camp but then they get released in July/August when NFL teams have to narrow down their playing roster for the regular season. NFL funds these training camps more as marketing/international exposure opportunity to make headlines and get more international fans rather than actually try to fill their rosters with foreign players. It’s more of a PR stunt.
