I was actually thinking of doing some audio books. I found a trove of bike touring accounts from the 1800s that are public domain and really interesting reads. I'd like to record them and release them as a podcast but I got scared off because some of the attitudes are a bit... 1800s and I don't want to get cancelled 😬 It might still happen though.

Woohoo, finally another poem, thank you thank you THANK YOU Jethro! I love it! Philosophy, poetry, nature, simple pleasures of life... I so appreciate you take us all along your travels and thoughts! There's nothing more beautiful and fulfilling than just sitting still in the midst of nature, be it calm and silent or windy and noisy. Whichever way, it's always full of activity, whether you see/hear/feel it or not. As they say on a safari: you're lucky if you see 10% of what sees you. The feeling is amazing. Please please please don't stop your philosophy and poetry line!

Been living in my tent, riding my bike solo for a year now. Not touring across countries, just living in my home town amongst the wild spaces and finding that peace you speak of. Youve threaded the needle of subtle advertising in order for personal gain without driving the anti capitalist youtube consumers of the world into a frenzy of revulsion. Appreciate the value you hold in the english language and the way you weave your waffle. Its taken for granted these days.

Short and sweet Jethro. Blackberries by the road side saved my 85 miles ride through the Chilterns last week. This is my favourite poem of the moment. Leisure What is this life if, full of care, We have no time to stand and stare. No time to stand beneath the boughs And stare as long as sheep or cows. No time to see, when woods we pass, Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass. No time to see, in broad daylight, Streams full of stars, like skies at night. No time to turn at Beauty's glance, And watch her feet, how they can dance. No time to wait till her mouth can Enrich that smile her eyes began. A poor life this if, full of care, We have no time to stand and stare. William Henry Davies, Welsh poet (1871-1940).

This channel is about the true spirit of adventure. No matter how big or small . A 10 min cycle can be an adventure.. A 3 day yomp with your mate constantly complaining can be an adventure… stumbling upon ancient masonry.. each course perfectly stacked by the steady gloved mitts of the Dwarven brick smiths of old… adventure! That, my friend, is what it’s all about! Being one with nature (and sometimes masonry) is what it’s all about. Also, Snickers bars.. They’re the best! Ps. This is the last time I’ll mention masonry. See you anon.

My cousins are over from Italy, i don't see them much. My cousin asked me how things were going, knowing deep down that my state of mind hasn't been great for 2 decades. I said ''Vin, i built the house and like everyone else, i felt that i needed to keep fighting the world and after a year of stressing looking for the next big thing, to keep up with the Jones' i stopped as i could see it was keeping me ill. I realised my fight is with myself. So i thought why not, just for once, just do the things i like and see how that goes.'' ''So i got back to riding and now i ride, 9 days out of ten and i don't care how many miles and i don't care where i end up, i just get up, make a nice lunch and i ride and instead of stressing i find myself smiling and laughing and i now look forward to getting up the next day for the first time in 25 years.''

What a beautiful autumnal opening scene. Stunning colours! Your 'POTS - Living on Tourist Time' was my first JJ video and it struck such a deep chord with me that with each and every sentence I kept thinking "he's definitely wrote this episode about me" ! 😁 Your way of thinking about touring life is exactly mine, and I then promptly went to your first ever video and watched them in order, the aforementioned one getting lots of repeated airplay. Finally, I thought, someone else actually gets just what it is all about! That was just my opinion, obviously, but now there are at least two of us 🙂 What kind of person unsubscribes just because of an occasional video being not to their preferred format 🤷‍♂️ Nowt as queer as folk, eh ... 😆 As for people thinking anything negative about you taking gifts from manufacturers, what do they not understand about this channel being part of how you make a living! Nowt as que ...😉 Only halfway through this video and I already find myself echoing the exact same thoughts as I had to the Living on Touring Time video.
