"Students" wish to go to college but not make the effort of studying, especially reading. Today, English literature, to these people is reading graffiti in bathroom walls, and they pride themselves in the garbage they manage to scrible. The average idiot, oops, the stupid student complaints when too much homework is given to them and yet they wish to be educated. They go to school and now they simply handout diplomas and degrees without dispersing knowledge. Both sides treat education like a drive-thru hamburg joint. You get to eat but end up empty just the same. READ, READ, READ, READ, READ, READ! It is a skill and an art.

A RARE PEARL ( FILM ) THAT MAY BE VERY DIFFICULT TO FIND AND HERE IT IS IN FRONT OF YOU......................................................................> SO: what is the MORAL this genius of a writer wanted to convey to all of us with such a simple, humble, and humanistic story ( THE NATURE OF MAN ). I'm sure we all have our opinions........................................................................> MINE IS: that if you get lucky and hit the " LOTTERY " don't say anything to anyone...just get a horse, bicycle, car, bus, train, ship or plane and get the '' HELL OUT TOWN '' with your love ones, as soon as possible, before the " BUZZERS BEGIN TO CIRCLE YOU'R HOME AND TELL YOU HOW MUCH THEY LOVE YOU " and want to HELP YOU. Even those that you don't know. Like BANKERS AND WALL-STREET PEOPLE (STOCK).,..............................> Stay put wherever you go and take all the time to think of what you are going to do with the " PEARL ", then, make a list of the one's who took care of you before you became " RICH ".....> All seriousness aside...." MONEY IS SWEET AND MONEY IS NICE. BUT IT DOESN'T SING & DANCE " and most of the time our lottery ticket is right in front of our nose............................> HEALTHY WIFE AND KIDS, A HOME, A JOB, FOOD ON THE TABLE AND FRIENDS THAT LOVE YOU AND ARE THERE FOR YOU. THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS PEARL... J. STEINBECK WAS IN WORLD OF HIS OWN THAT NO OTHER WRITER CAME NEAR HIS GIFT AS A WRITER.

Basit Yusufzai No! The lesson here is that happiness does not come from money or possessions! I just read this short novel ~ John Steinbeck’s writing is awesome! (In fact I just read this 2 weeks ago Sept 2018. Hmm....synchronicity?) I didn’t even know there was a movie! As always, the book gives much more beautiful detail & this film did not follow the story to the fullest. It would be nice to see this re-done on film... I would advise kids or anyone to read it, it’s not very long & you feel much more emotion to the hardships & lessons learned from these people & the people around them! Don’t use this movie as a study guide! There are situations that are added or deleted. There are huge discrepancies that I could list here!

Really good Movie. I had never seen it but have read all of John Steinbeck's books at one time or another, My favorite Author! I also saw the Grapes of Wrath, of Mice and Men (old and new movie) , as well as Cannery Row. I got to see the Steinbeck House in Salinas Ca. Some years ago, and went all over the Cannery Row, where some of His books are set, in Monterey Ca. , Which once was full of Sardine Canneries, hence the name. One of the most beautiful places I ever had the privilege to be! Tortilla Flat is also a Book well worth reading by Steinbeck. The Pearl is a good choice for School English Curriculum, any number of His other Works could also suffice. John Steinbeck received the Nobel Prize for literature in 1962.
