Oh, no, don't apologize for doing a Sayers' story! You could put out her entire collection and I would be a happy woman.☺️

I love this writer bc after I had heard all of the Queen herself’s works, Agatha Christie, I discovered this writer and I have seen the tv versions of a few programs which were great, especially the one with the brunette lady journalist, the tall blonde Lord Peter ……. ❤❤❤ Thank you Tony ♥️🎄

Even sick, your voice is great! This was a sweet little story. And yes, the main reason we say, " Happy Holidays" in the states, is there are so many different religions and practices. Happy Holidays covers them all. 🎄 ❤
@doriellesoler750210 сағат бұрын
I have to disagree 😊. We are celebrating CHRISTmas, the birth of Christ. My Muslim husband often expresses surprise when (rarely for my country) someone says, "Happy holidays and sometimes quips what, are you forgetting the reason. Let's keep our culture !

@doriellesoler7502 Christianity stole many elements from pagan religions, one of them being the time of Yule (shepherdswould only abide in the fields with their flocks during the lambing season, which is in early spring). Also, the Puritans did not celebrate Christmas, considering it popery.
@ottopippenger1590Сағат бұрын
@@doriellesoler7502 it isn’t Christmas, it’s December, which also includes Hanukkah and Ramadan among others, which include multi-day or week components more legitimate to the religious aspect than the 12 days of Christmas are. What toadying behavior. I don’t see why one can’t bid anyone a merry Christmas on the 24th and 25th in a spirit of invitation to the secular and collective festivities if so inclined, but your hostility to the reality of a pluralistic society is pointless, peevish, and rancid.

Wonderful reading and the commentary was engaging. The story reminded me quite a bit of 'the Flying Stars', a Fr. Brown/Flambeau story (1911). Except in that one it was stolen diamonds.

Hello Tony--In the U.K. are mince pies ever made with a fruit/meat filling? Here in California, my mother used to make incredible "mince meat pies". The filling was made with hand ground steak, apples and suet (special fat from the butcher) combined with raisins, currents and wonderful fragrant spices. What made this completely over the top was the "hard sauce" (butter, sugar, brandy) served warm on top of the slice. Delicious, and otherwise never seen by me anywhere else stateside.

Can’t believe you think it necessary to apologise for another D L Sayer’s!! The more the better, and you sounded your usual self, really enjoyed it. BTW Get well ❤️🩹 v soon! You are healed for Xmas! Trust it! Happy Xmas! P.s I don’t know if you have done this already but Agatha has done a few paranormal stories (short, your usual length) that would be perfect for your other channel, the scariest being about a séance, and a few other truly supernatural ones! (My absolute favourite of all her stuff, except maybe her last novel that she wrote in a very short amount of time) Just a suggestion for you…. I’m not asking! ❤

Btw, I’m a huuuge fan of Coleman’s mustard though there seems to be a shortage of it here in the U.S. I was thinking, could they have held up production in order to change the label from ‘By appointment to Queen Elizabeth 2’ to King Charles? The royal coat of arms is present on a number of products, I imagine that the king gets to change his own product labels too. All food for thought ..
