Strangely the PDF I used for the video did not have the last couple of paragraphs that are included in the Treasure Chest textbook. Explanation for last paras : The interesting aspect that features in the last bit is that Mead spots his house, the only one with the lights brightly lit. He points that out but there is no one to listen to him, again pointing to him being a loner in that city. The word Empty is repeated thrice in the last paragraph for effect and to emphasise the feeling of loneliness and what a city it had become devoid of humans.

Sir, can the words ' soft thud ' , instead of being oxymorons , be an example of Onomatopoeia? Thud imitates the sound made when the door of a car closes, the word soft merely describes the intensity of such.

Friend It happens many times in figure of speeches that some phrases may lead to more than one figure of speech In such cases the type is identified using the sentence formation I personally believe here it was onomatopoeia

sir you forgot to explain the last paragraph ; your notes were lacking those last 10 to 15 lines ; in the last lines we see Leonard Mead house which was brightly lighted and every window was filled with the yellow illumination of the light giving a sense of liveliness and warmth in the cold darkness. The police car did not stop at his house without several remainders given by Leonard Mead , and continues it's journey towards the Psychiatric Centre with Mr Mead leaving the street , side walks empty with complete silent in the cold night of November .........

You can say it's a hidden sea because of the foggy scenery described during the month of early November Due to it being so foggy , you can't really see it....

hello sir, one question, why did leonard mead walk into the police car ? he knew that was no human to force him into it, and he could just run away into narrow colonies where the car couldn't go. moreover, it was dark, he could be at a distance, so the police had to turn on ligths in order to view him .... pls answer

I think so he got into the car because the car represented the totalitarian rule of that country where individualistic choices were like illegal to exist. He was powerless against the car and has to abide by those laws even though they sounded like they were illogical.

he interestingly looked upon long foothpaths as he stood on an intersection ................... since he was standing on an intersection.... he looked around ....all he could see where empty footpaths (or sidewalks as u may call it) the moon which was in all its glory during 8 pm seemed to be the only source of light in the streets further indicating pessimism and isolation....... this is my own interpretation hope this helps

Sir , can you do a favor to the icse students watching your videos, Sir please can you at least predict the chapters which may come in the boards , the reason for the prediction is that now that stories like photographer, elevator are not so interesting like homecoming, boy who broke the bank, bonku babu which kept us glued, so we are not able to make time for these stories, no problem with the poems but with the stories.
