The Peek Note Wallet by Gerard Kearney with Secret Tannery Review

The Peek Note Wallet is an extremely well-made, elegant wallet with enough storage to be used as your everyday carry while still keeping a neat and streamlined look. The Peek Note has one of the most deceptive peeks I've ever used, and the motivation for the peek is the most natural I have seen. Many mentalists have made the peek note their everyday wallet.

Great review and looks good, the only peek wallet I have is the Orphic Plus. How does it compare with that one?

Thank you! The Orphic is a great wallet where you have multiple ways to obtain your peek and different motivations to get it as well. The nice thing about the peek note is that you obtain your peek as you are closing your wallet in one fluid motion. If you need to get a better look you CAN go back to the wallet with the right motivation if you are carrying billets or business cards but it's unlikely you will need to as you get a full, clear peek with the method provided in the tutorial. Usually a wallet requires being opened or something done with it to get the peek where as with this you will get it closing the wallet and then the wallet can be put away never to be used again.

If you watch Gerards routine in the trailer for this wallet you will see how deceptive the peek is. I honestly didn't know where it happened until I saw the tutorial because it's so natural. No funny moves.

Great review. I have been looking at this for a while now. Still $90 US is a bit steep. Especially when there are no real routines included, except Gerard's. Can you show front and back of the wallet? Do we still have "upper classes" in Canada?lol

Haha I hear you. It's a nice looking wallet. Good for every day carry but also doesn't look out of place if you're in a suit and performing walk around at a nice wedding or something. I probably wouldn't want to whip out a big bulky bi-fold if I'm in that scenario. The nice thing about the peek note is that the peek is hidden until the moment you want to get it.. and you get it in the natural movement of closing the wallet. But unlike some other wallets that also feature the kind of peek you can get without going back to the wallet, this wallet can be openly displayed front and back and nothing looks either or sticks out.

How does the peek compare with the Razor wallet?

Entirely different peek with entirely different motivation. The nice thing about this peek is that you never need to go back to the wallet. It can either be obtained immediately, or you can go back to the wallet if you need a longer peek or if you need to "re-peek." A lot of people I know who use peek wallets swear by this wallet as their go-to EDC wallet because of the peek and good amount of storage. The peek is really good for sure. It never became my EDC as I am so comfortable using she shadow wallet; but I would use this wallet if I were performing strolling magic in a more formal type setting as the wallet looks extremely nice.

Gerard's products are exquisite. Have you had any challenge putting a business card in to the peeked area?

They are so nice. No I haven't, but they are hand made I believe so there could be slight differences with each wallet. What I recommend (I do this with all of my wallet), is over packing the wallet, and carrying it around in your pocket for a couple of days. You don't need to overpack it where you are forcefully stretching the leather, but I just mean, I'll usually put an extra card or two in each card slot, carry the wallet around for a couple of days, and then take the extra cards out. The leather stretches enough to where the cards go in and come out nice, but the wallet still keeps its intended shape.
