I was playing this song for my dad when he died (he was already dying). This is a fabulous cover of it. You have also covered several of John's other tunes beautifully. I used to play a number of them myself. Your cover of 'The South Wind' makes me want to pick up the guitar again ! John would be (and maybe he is) impressed.

Fantastic cover! I love this song; my dad used to play it all the time before, inspired me to try to learn it. Very hard but definetively possible! Helps a lot having the tab papers for the black balloon album (and this video is also of great help, so thank you for sharing.) Might try to learn the other songs as well later, but it will certainly take some time as I am still a beginner. Thank you again for sharing!

Hey, I just wanted to comment and say what a great cover this is. I learned the introduction and the main motif this summer. I have a really hard time getting the harmonics in the introduction without using a thumb pick - just can't get enough volume. Are you catching the strings with your thumbnail to get that volume?
