True story I have caught more fish with a home made 2 piece mini fishing rod and a home made reel out of a kinder egg ( with a sewing machine mini reel inside) than using a real long fishing rod with proper reel on it. Sometimes something looks so ridiculous and bizarre but just works! Ordered this one as well and it is a very nice mini fishing rod.

I have one of these. I paid too much by buying from some website that talked them up to be superior than those off Amazon. They're the same ones, so don't fall for it. That said, I have used this little rod and have caught fish with it, mainly trout, and sunfish. It makes even a tiny fish feel like a monster. A lot of fun. One piece of advice, don't buy the rods with the tiny little bait cast type reel. They're absolute garbage. The ones that have the spinning reel like in this video are not too bad.

We have a good friend who has one and swears by it. Yours looks just like his, and he’s caught some pretty big fish on it. Bill fly fishes but I grew up with a rod and reel so maybe that’s what I need. 😂

these are a cool find for the money these days i was a very big Hiker / Backpacking Enthusiast for many years and i used to pack basically a kids Rod with a Zebco 101 reel on it i got the idea looking at one of my Children’s Snoopy themed fishing Rod turned out Walmart sold the same combo rod and reel without the Logos and they did break down into 2 parts that fit perfect rolled up in my sleeping mat my Buddies laughed but i didn’t give a damn it worked

There are two versions of these pen rod i had one with a plastic reel it wasn't that good hardy 3 feet . This one looks nice and durable

It comes in bigger sizes now, up to 63”. If you had to do it over, would you get the bigger size or stick to the 38,5” one, for trekking, survivalkit purposes? Thx for making this content! ;)

I bought one for my edc slingbag but I couldn't find one with a triggerspin so I picked up a Zebco 33 micro underspin. Foot was a little too thick at the ends so I thinned and narrowed the ends of the foot with my grinder and a sanding disc. Works pretty good. I've really been liking triggerspins the last few years so just something I wanted to try to put together.

I bought two the one that showes the rod at a 45 degree angle is junk u want to get the one that is up and down and gold it's a little bigger and stronger but.if u let put the very bottom piece it will snap were the reel threads are mine did I just epoxy it down in there so it's all good now.

Well far enough for a small rod.. if you full your reel with a 5-8lbs line... i cast far enough from shore.

well..depends on the fish.. you can get bass size but if you try to go bigger... might snap. It's still a lightweight rod.

I'm fishing with this rod for fun for few years ,it is fun lure rod but it is not flexible (it can hold 3 lbs of pure weight) ..thats mean not far casting with light weight lure. BTW why american cast light rods with 2 hands ? (yes there are many ways to cast ) but with so tiny light rod (with spinning reel not multiplicator) it is better cast overhead with one hand to have maximum swing (elasticity of rod help farther cast) or sideways cast. It is basic law of physic (faster momentum = farther cast) .
