The thing about Sofia is that even if she’s cured of her psychosis/ schizophrenia she’s still a psychopath, someone who lacks empathy and the ability to feel guilt/ remorse. I think she’s a sadist who doesn’t have any remorse over murdering all those women. It wasn’t a case of her having episodes of insanity and not knowing what she’s doing. There are those who if they are cured of the psychosis they would no longer be a danger and they are really a good person, That’s not the case with Sofia.
