I grew up on Broad Bay in Virginia Beach and there were a lot of folks using the greenies! We mostly used the Mitchells, but in either case they always performed well! Keep up the great content!

@@christinerogers5331 Hey CJ🤠, These Penns are so much like the Shakespeares it actually funny.. I was a Mitchell kid simply because of the price.. I’m looking forward to the Penn/Mitchell showdown. That’s gonna be an interesting episode.

Hi Willie, that is the biggest reel I have ever seen. It would overpower me. It's the biggest and scariest, I think I'll pass on trying one that size. It's 21 out here now with snow. I don't like snow or cold. Come to think of it, I would prefer it stay 60 all year. Tell all Hi and meow. Take care and stay safe till next time. I am getting better, but it is taking forever.

I have Penn 718, same color. Even after replacing ball bearing in rotor, its noisy, but still works.

@@barry4fish Hey There🤠, I’ve ordered a couple bearings from Mat (Mats Reel Repair) and I’m going to replace it and the 716 (upcoming episode😉). My 712Z is just a newer version of the Greenies but in black/gold, it’s bearing is whisper quiet. So I’m hoping the replacement bearings are that quiet .. Either way, I’m looking forward to using them.. 😃

i like you surrounded by salt water here on longisland new york though we do have many lakes creeks and rivers i love both types of fishing and i love catching crabs

If you get the size of that bearing you can get skate board bearings that are really nice and smooth to fit it

@@scottlewis2218 I’ve often thought about that considering my younger days and also having several skateboards laying around here but considering that the Penn reels are a mostly saltwater oriented reels, I believe the bearing may be stainless. Not positive on that but I called Mat from Mats Reel Repair and ordered the correct bearing for it and the next episode (part2) the 716 ultralight..

Was thinking that bearing I sent you a while back would have fit that reel, but then I realized it was metric. Not a fit for American made Penn reels. You should be able to easily replace that bearing. If you can't find an OEM bearing you might use a generic bearing as long as Penn doesn't use a proprietary OEM size.

@@ddselvig I was on the phone with Mats just minutes after I made that episode.. I have two brand bearings on the way. One for the 710 and one for the 716 ultralight.. can’t wait to use these reels.. maybe a little Shakespeare/Penn kinda thing😉
