Welcome to our very first video at the channel of our bellringing group, the Children of Quasimodo !
Nearly 2 years passed by, until the Children of Quasimodo (in German "Die Kinder Quasimodos") gathered to ring bells and make documentaries about them.
First meeting in the new formation of the Group (Yùlian,Sebastian, Thommy was missing for family reasons), on Sunday, Pat Warziniak joined us as guest ringer.
To this Church : The Protestant Village Church of Hünxe in the Rhineland got an old tower, which is connected to the (bit younger) Gothic Nave,since 15xx ,the Parish Community is Lutheran.
The bigger bell was made by Wolter Westerhues, a quite sucessful student of Geert/Gerardus Van Wou, in 1520, the bell really resembles the style of Van Wou, the tonal structure got some similarities to the Bells of Utrecht Cathedral, which were made by Van Wou 15 years earlier.
The smaller bell was added in 1770 (not sure if she was a recast or not) by the Voight Brothers from Isselburg/Germany, luckily both bells do match well, though being 250 years different in age.
