I didn’t understand all of this episode because (I’m ashamed to say) I only speak Afrikaans and English, but based in this conversation I want to offer an answer to a question you asked that guy from Afriforum about Afrikaner culture. One of the apartheid government’s most heinous crimes was forcing the black population to break the family nucleus in order to put food on the table because the men had to travel to the city to find work. Compounded over generations this created a norm of fragmented families. This might be what is responsible for the mindset difference you asked about, I think you asked if there is some kind of school that Afrikaner kids go to outside of regular school where they are taught to be independent of the government. I think this may be the explanation. Most Afrikaner families, at least up until recently, have been staunchly Christian and very committed to the family nucleus. There is a lot of wisdom that is transferred between generations if the family spends at least the formative years of the kids together. Nowadays we have more blended families with divorced parents remarrying, but the norm is still to gravitate towards the family nucleus even if it is not entirely biological. When I got married my mother-in-law sat me down and told me “My girl, don’t forget love is an act of will. You have to choose to love him and choose it again and again every day because that is how you keep your family together.” This is the basis of most Afrikaner families and perhaps this helps explain a few things.

Don't forget. Afrikanerdom / Boers etc was a Bavarian Illuminati/ Rothschild EXPERIMENT. The end result is & always was the total destruction of SA. Afrikaner /Apartheid started same time as the Great War...... Research what I'm saying. WE ARE ALL BEING PLAYED......

"Staunch Christian" is it Christian to hate other people just because they are Human and thry happen to be Black? Where is the love agape? I am Christian and Black and I just wonder if Afrikaners really understand the Bible. Yes the nuclear family thing I admire about Afrikaners but to be Christian you have to love and know that we can't put images of a "white Jesus" and think beyond race.
@soara46344 ай бұрын
@@martinmasilo3999 Be careful of that judgement. “Staunch Christians” have been responsible for many atrocities in history, this one isn’t even the worst of them. Personally I am not a Christian. I find them too narrow minded, dogmatic and vulnerable to propaganda. If you think the Afrikaner population itself was each in control of their own free-thinking faculties and they all at once collectively decided to be racist, you don’t understand human psychology, you don’t understand politics, and you don’t understand the power of propaganda in the hands a few crooked men. By that I am not saying the result was not a a nation of racists, I am saying they were manipulated as much as any other group within these borders. Just like the EFF and MK are manipulating people right now by perpetuating hatred and racial politics. Did you know the public school history syllabus for primary school kids aged nine included gruesome depictions of Zulu warriors smashing the heads of Afrikaner babies against ossewa wheels? And gutting pregnant women? Who teaches nine year olds this kak unless you are trying to breed hatred? I was in such a class. I saw the pictures on the tri-projector transparencies - this was before fancy TV’s. I saw the constant emphasis on and downright lies about the violence and barbarism of “die swartes”. Do you think that was an accurate age appropriate history lesson or might it have been a cog in the propaganda machine? Might someone have been deliberately trying to create hate from a very young age? And that shit sticks man. It took me decades to rid myself of the indoctrination and I am not even fully done yet, I STILL catch myself reverting to old thinking because it was done so early it sits in the very base programming of your brain. But I AM trying. I catch myself out and immediately counter the thought with truth. And many other Afrikaners are trying equally hard, it is just so fucking deep dude. We’ve been fed this kak from the time we can talk for generations. It will take time to get rid of all of it, just like it will take time for you to forgive. I bear you no ill will. I acknowledge the injustices of the past. May you receive fair restitution and may we build together.

Ike, I am impressed by your wealth of knowledge which undoubtedly shows that you do research extensively. Some of the unsung heroes did whatever they could at best under the circumstances. I remember my learnership certificate of lower grades back in 1964, my subjects were Afrikaans, English, Zulu, Arithmetics, Biblical studies and Agriculture. It was designed such that I could communicate with my masters, arithmetic to count change when I am sent to the shops to buy, biblical studies to down my perceived barbaric tendencies and agriculture so that I could feed my family back home. I hope you may be invited again to address us on "'economic disruption'' currently plagues the country.
