I find it hard to believe Toby's fireman would just leave his engine behind. Some rewrites I'd make are "Toby's crew had kept his fire going to keep warm" so when toby's fireman came running back, "he jumped into Toby's cab, put him in full reverse and threw the regulator open".

Really really nicely done. Well written and Voice Acted, one of the more disturbing stories I’ve heard not just because of the concept but the execution, those snapping wood sound effects play into the context so so well! Really grand job from everyone here!

There should been a scene where the fireman gets scolded for abandoning Toby to his face, as well as Sir Topham Hatt feeling regret for exploring the mine in the first place.... Also, have Bertram explain what had happened...

I can imagine Toby waking up and finding out it was all a bad dream, he then finds Bertram and maybe some more old engines in and around the old mine. Would've made it a little more sense to me. 😊

I can imagine this as a what if scenario- Thomas- …Toby…I-I…I’m sorry… (Hears a voice mutter they took him over and over) Thomas- Driver you hear that? Driver- indeed….Sounds like it’s coming from over here…(walks off with two of the workman.) Driver- …Wait…is that an engine? Betrum- They took him…They took him…They took him… ???- …Damn…Looks like he’s seen some things… Betrum- Pl-please…Get me out of here…They took your friend…It’s only a matter of time before they come for us next. ???- Calm down bud. Will get you to the works and sort all this out later. (Later that week) Skarloey- Hello umm…Bertrum was it? I haven’t made your acquaintance yet I believe. How’s the Skarloey railway been for you so far? Bertrum- …(Doesn’t say anything and leaves with there train of slate.) Duncan- I wouldn’t bother trying. He hasn’t said a word to anyone over the past few days. To be honest looks like he saw something that scarred him…

I could imagine the following as an alternative scenario in Haunted Henry (possibly a rewrite). Sir Topham Hatt: Good afternoon. I hope I wasn't interrupting your rest. Henry: Hello sir. Don't worry about it. Sir Topham Hatt: I want you and Edward to work on the reconstruction of an old station by a pond. Neville and Murdoch can cover your trains on the mainline including the Flying Kipper. Henry: Very well, sir. LATER ON Owl: Coo coo! Henry: Stupid bird! Edward: Whenever that owl hoots, a mist rolls in. And there's a legend that when there's a mist about, there's a ghost about too. Henry: Silence is golden, Edward! Jesus, don't you ever get tired of hearing yourself talking?! Edward: Take care on the old line, youngster. Henry: Yeah whatever! Owls, mists, ghosts - jabberwocky! You're going soft in the boiler. There's no mist. Henry's fireman: What the hell is that? Henry's driver: It's an amber lamp. That means proceed with caution. Indeed we should because it's a pea souper. Henry: Who's there? Henry's driver: Look at that sign. It says; "Danger! Beware of the viaduct." Henry: Weird. Nobody warned us about this before and look! The signal's red, and the gates are closed. Henry's fireman: And there's a fogman's coat! But where the bloody hell is its owner? Henry: G-g-ghosts! Edward was right! Didn't you see that light flicker in the station? Henry's driver: Something funny is happening. I think it's best that we go back. Henry: This is true! Workman: I heard about the viaduct. Thank the Lord you didn't try to cross last night. Henry's driver: Yeah, but we don't know who the hell warned us. Henry's fireman: The viaduct has been repaired, boyo, and that's why we can take our train along the old line tonight again. Henry: I don't want to. Why can't either Neville or Murdoch do my work tonight? I don't mind the smell of fish. I can take the Kipper again. Henry's driver: Murdoch is too heavy for that branch line, and Neville has enough work to do. Owl: Coo coo! Gordon: Beware of the ghost, Henry! Ahahahaha! Trucks: Oh look - Henry's spooked! Muahahaha! Henry: Zip it, you stupid bastards! I'm not scared! Henry's driver: Here we go again. Trucks: Faster, faster! There's a ghost about! The crossing gates closed by themselves and the signal went red! Henry: Stop! Stop! You'll get us all killed! Brakes, driver! Old Bailey: I tried to warn them about that viaduct. Now that silly engine and his trucks are in smithereens. I hope Sir Topham Hatt has a generous insurer! I don't remember noticing a caboose on that train!

But one question remains, besides the obvious "who are the 'People in the Hills'?"; what happened to Toby's fireman? Toby and his Driver were confirmed to be dead, but the Fireman ran past Toby, and into the fog, bloody, but still alive. But the story never mentions him again. Did he survive? Or was he killed elsewhere?
