Acting is often a form of escapism for introverts. Kristen has admitted to suffering anxiety on stage, she originally intended to only do small Indie films (Twilight was initially considered an Indie), so the unexpected fame was difficult for her to handle. Robert is also a self proclaimed introvert, for the record.

I always feel so sad for Rob when I watch this video. He makes 3 grabs to hold Kristen's hand (from 0:08-0:10) and she just ignores him - there's no way you wouldn't feel another hand on your own. I can understand not wanting to hold hands but she doesn't even look at him. :( And then he looks so disappointed afterwards but as if he is trying to shake it off.
