Are you, liking the bonsai mix you used. First time Desert Rose grower. Found some at Garden Company out of Schulenburg. They were supplied by old Mr. Teas of Teas Nursery in Houston. He's still around apparently. Need a good mix

It’s a good mix. I typically use @solsoils bonsai mix or @thebonsasupply mix

Do you protect your desert rose plants if it drops below 50?

I would

Wish I could get my seedlings to grow. They hit like 2 inches and just stopped growing.

i am in Royse City and i want to grow some in the house. i don't want to water every day. is black soil ok to grow in? Do i need grow lights? i keep my house cool in the winter. how cool is ok?

They prefer to be outside in full sun. But they can be grown indoors. It’s just very unlikely that they will bloom. I would put them in a south facing window. But I still prefer the bonsai soil mix. If it’s indoors you could still water about once a week.

It’s already dipping into the 40’s this eeek, so I set my DR in the greenhouse overnight. This morning the caudex of each was wet to the touch. The humidity is always high in my greenhouse. Is that going to rot my desert rose plants?

It should be fine as long as it’s in well draining soil. It’s still in the 80s here in house.
