I don't like it and I don't think it looks that bad. I've found tho that facial hair (or lack of facial hair) is something people imprint on when they get to know you, and is instantly disturbing to friends and family if it's different from the last time they saw you (if you shave it off, or if someone hasn't seen you since you grew it out and is now surprised).

FMA is one of the purest examples of “earn your happy ending”. Shit happened. People died, were hurt, emotionally burdened. Certain elements of the world changed, not always for the better and not in ways that could just be fixed or returned to how they once were… but through all of it they finally reached some element of closure, a place where their lives could resume. The antagonist was vanquished and those who were left were ultimately better people by the end of it. Ed is a prime example of that message. Most other shonen series are all too happy to lend their protagonists fancy power ups and new abilities to move their stories along, but Ed never once got that. By the end of the series the only thing that changed physically was that he just got taller with age. By the time of the final fight with Father Ed’s basic abilities had not changed in any fundamental way. It was wisdom, emotional maturity that he gained, new perspectives and outlooks on the world that enabled him to see new possibilities and do new things he couldn’t before.

Fun Fact: Roy's appearance in the manga is different than the anime. Not only did he not have the mustache and has his hair slick back, but he wasn't wearing the jacket so you can see his rank, he's a "three-star" General. Which is the rank above "Lieutenant General" and the rank just below Four-Star General aka, the Fuhrer

After Ed returned, I always liked the idea he became a Doctor like Winry's parents. He has the intelligence for it, he said he studied medicine for human transmutation, and him and Al would be excellent for providing medical support for amputees who then get automail from Winry. He also said Winry's parents were like an aunt and uncle to him, so it would be really nice.

I've always loved how the family photo at the end has Garfiel and Paninya there too. It's just this little detail that like, Winry has her own friends, and even if we only met them a few times in the series, they were still a big part of HER life over in Rush Valley.

The ironic ways in which all the Homunculus died: - Lust was burned by the passion of a pretend ladies' man. - Gluttony was consumed by a more fearsome eater. - Sloth overworked himselfs to death. - Envy killed themself because they couldn't live without despising what they wanted all along. - Wrath died in peace and smiling. While a wrathful revenger stood over him without acting on that wrath. - Pride let go of his pride because it was hollow and he wanted to survive. In the end he was "reduced" to a human baby. A being without any pride. - Greed died right when he was fulfilled and because of the greed of his father.

I just want to point out that Ed was wearing the same outfit that Hohenhiem was wearing, the trench coat and everything, and even had his hair in a ponytail rather than his usual braid. It’s just a nice way of showing that he accepted his father in the end.

Fun Fact: One thing that was changed in the anime was that in that last photo it’s just supposed to be a family photo with Ed, Al, May, Winry, Xiao-Mei & Ed and Winrys kids. In the manga Paninya and Garfiel have there own separate photo on the wall and are not supposed to be in that picture with them.

Something beautiful about the ending is that it signifies the end of the pain cycle. The family picture is no longer that of a father crying because of the pain he knows will come but rather a smiling father happy because of the good to come. Also that's the only picture of Ed Smiling.

Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood has been my favorite anime since my second watch, which was when I got older and more empathic ❤ Every time I watch I realize something new. It's a story that manages to interconnect so many thing from beginning to end. So many certain actions that you forget about, matching the reasons that you only learn much later. And it manages to create challenges that truly seem hopeless, with impossible odds stacked against the good guys, but with resolutions and twists that absolutely makes sense, often foreshadowed beforehand, without employing some deus ex machina device. Such examples include Bucaneer and Fu fatally wounding Bradley, or Hohemheim's circle to return the souls of Amestris. *Every time I think about how it ends against all odds they faced, I can't help but feel absolute glee* (especially Hohemheim, if you think about it, his journey is the most insane of them all. It's a miracle he found happiness in the end, and even more the he was able to live enough to come back and die by his wife's side). Anyway, it's undeniable it's a well written story with a fulfilling end like you VERY rarely see in any media out there. *I cannot overstate how much I love it, and therefore how much I enjoy watching people experiencing it for the first time*😁

I would highly recommend watching the 2003 anime. Everyone watches Brotherhood, but the 2003 version needs some love too. Even if it's just to compare the two.

Its been one hell of a run. Absolute 10/10 reaction to a 10/10 show. Lets run it up, one last time. With all the irony this time.... Lust: Died to Roy Mustang, protecting the woman he cares abouts. Gluttony: Eaten alive by Pride. Envy: Killed himself after his jealousy of humans, a "lower lifeform" was revealed. Greed: Selflessly sacrificed himself after gaining everything he could ever want. Wrath: Died at peace. Sloth: Overexerted himself against his figh with Alex and Sig, resulting in his own death. Pride: Beaten from with by Kimblee (Whom Pride arrogantly consumed and took within himself) intervening when Pride cast away his namesake as a Homunculus. Dwarf in the Flask: Wanted to experience true freedom from the laws of the Truth, was imprisoned within his own Portal.(Wanted to become God, met him instead).

Code Geass has a couple head scratcher episodes that haven't aged perfectly, but the overall story and ending in particular are still immaculate. FMAB, Code Geass, and Mob Psycho 100, are probably my top 3 endings in Anime.

There’s a bonus epilogue chapter where Central sends Al his broken armor body, he decides to honour it by melting it so it can help those who need automail parts rather than just collecting dust. The helmet however was stolen by the dog, when they found it, it’s being used as a bird’s nest.

I'm not sure if you've been told this or not yet or you found out! But there's some crossover with the dub actors in FMAB and the Attack on Titan dub. The actor who plays Jean (Havoc) in FMAB plays Jean from Attack on Titan and the actress who plays Lan Fan also voices Mikasa. And there's probably more too, but those are the ones I know for sure. Just kind of interesting who you find in different 10/10 anime. But I'm glad you enjoyed the show so much! I knew you would! It has an uplifting and great ending, and.. really, not a lot of main characters (or at least protagonists) died, and if they did, they died with a cause like Greed or Buccaneer! Oh, on Ed's ending age, he's 18 at the end or the last actual scene. In the picture everyone is probably even a little older than that based on the kids and everything. I also like how he even looks like Hoenheim now in his outfit and longer hair, and Ed is leaving on a journey, much like his father.
