HDZero 1s freestyle is officially a thing now. Thanks for pioneering this space. Let's tell the world!

It sure is! I appreciate all of the hard work from the HDZero team to get us here, and the pilots like you who have been vetting the products and giving the feedback to point it in this direction. I can't wait to see some more of these in the wild and similar builds start to pop up!

I really hope you enjoy it as much as i do! It has its quirks, like all things FPV, but it is a great system and it has a ton of potential. I can't wait to see where we get with the open source projects starting up!

Beautiful build, dude! Nicely done! 😃 My hope is that HDZero becomes a project as big as ExpressLRS! Many brands making hardware and so on... That would be a dream! Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

Thank you man! I am hoping for the same thing. Seeing lots of manufacturers get on board would be awesome! I know there are other options for HD out there, but one that is not tied to a single vendor may just rule them all.

I would love to build one! Amazing HDzero is still pushing it. Maybe i would try 3-blade props or smaller stator diameter/more hight for mine.
@BaconNinjaFPV2 жыл бұрын
I think trying out tri blades and a motor swap would be pretty awesome! I usually go for taller stators, but i thought i would stick to a formula that was already laid out for that part on this one, lol. Let me know if you ever build it because i would love to see how it flies!

Awesome video and great build man! I’ve been thinking of doing one of these for a backyard ripper since my 3s tp3 sings a little louder than it used to now as I’ve continually added weight over time. Was thinking of looking at the baby tooth, but I’ll definitely compare this “already invented wheel” option! If I didn’t say it already, great video!
@BaconNinjaFPV2 жыл бұрын
I definitely started this build with the same thought. I was looking at building a babytooth, but I realllly wanted that top mount battery and enclosed front mounted camera for the freestyle feel. I can tell you that this thing is plenty stealthy too. Thank you so much for checking it out!

Would suggest that Emax do a bind in fly as by the looks they are going to invest in HDzero .. Personally waiting on the HDzero Goggles in September.
@BaconNinjaFPV2 жыл бұрын
I think emax could do it for sure! They don't currently have a motor in this size, but I bet if they did it would sell outside of just being used for a BNF of this. I think you aren't alone in waiting for those goggles. I am really looking forward to them myself.

I've been trying to build something just like this but analog for a year now but I'm having trouble getting all the parts in my country. I was wondering what would be your opinion on 1202.5 11500 /11600 kV motors vs the 13mm you are using. I was thinking on using this with 1s out 2s for freestyle and with a 18650 or 1s2p for long range. Great video. Great build. I've been following the thread in rcgroups that brought me here.
@BaconNinjaFPV2 жыл бұрын
I can see how those 13mm motors could be hard to get your hands on outside of the US. I think that a 1202.5 in 11500kv would be very nearly the same and could handle 1S just fine as well as 2S with around an 80% motor output limit. That is what I am doing with my 13mm and it works out great! As for the 18650, it will probably fly, but I am not sure how well with the additional weight and lower amp capacity. Technically it should be ok, but it may like to lose authority in some situations. Let me know how it goes if you try it, and thank you so much for checking it out!

What are you using for a battery strap on this little guy? Finishing up my build now, and that's pretty much the last piece. I went with a 1-3s build and will mostly be flying it with 3s, so slightly different motors, but thanks for the inspiration!
@entropealabs_fpv2 жыл бұрын
Also, can you find those M1.6 standoffs anywhere? I had a screw break off inside, still usable, but not sure for how long...
@BaconNinjaFPV2 жыл бұрын
I can't wait to see what you think of it! I think on 3S that little thing is going to shred pretty hard. I am using this strap from RDQ and going around the entire frame with it. I kind of like it that way since in a crash it makes it really hard for something to get into the stack with a bit of the strap in the way. www.racedayquads.com/products/rdq-kevlar-micro-battery-strap-w-woven-rubber-grip-metal-buckle-180?keyword=battery%20strap
@BaconNinjaFPV2 жыл бұрын
I couldn't find the standoffs either :( I actually bought some M2 by accident thinking that was what they were, but wound up doing the spacer thing instead. It may be worth getting some M2 and using a small round file to make the screw hole slightly bigger. If I ever broke one, that is what I would do for it.
@entropealabs_fpv2 жыл бұрын
@@BaconNinjaFPV yeah, I was actually able to screw an M2 into the bottom plate just fine, the top plate is VERY tight, and feels like it's going to split the carbon fiber. Pyrodrone actually has the frame in stock, although you can only buy one, so I snatched one up. Thanks for the tip on the battery strap!

@@BaconNinjaFPV Had a busy few weeks, just got it out for it's maiden voyage... after a few PID issues :) 3S is super snappy, but 2S 525mAh seems to be where it's at for a good balance of flight time and power. I did change up the motors from what you had, going with the FPVCycle 13mm 6350kv. Love how quiet it is! Thanks for an awesome build!

Question. I see your CLI Dump and I was wondering if I can just copy the part that starts #Master? The VTX table is going to be different as I will be using a different VTX. Just received my frame and motors and FC. Going to begin the build. thanks
@BaconNinjaFPV2 жыл бұрын
Awesome! I will say it is a tight build, so definitely a good little challenge. If you are using the same FC as in my build, you could just take out the VTX table section and paste in the rest. If it is a different FC then you may want to just paste in the profiles themselves and make sure you have RPM filtering set up elsewhere since my tune does utilize it. I can't wait to see how you like it!
@ntorres19662 жыл бұрын
@@BaconNinjaFPV I am using the same FC. Thanks for the information. Ill let you know once its built.
@moldyranch50882 жыл бұрын
I had a question about the AIO FC you used - I may not know enough but isn’t the ELRS on that board provided by SPI connection such that it cannot run with the latest version of ELRS?
@BaconNinjaFPV2 жыл бұрын
Yes, you are absolutely correct about that. The current ELRS release candidates don't support backwards compatibility with 2.X to retain the SPI capability. I do have hope that before the full release comes, backwards compatibility gets added and our little drones aren't all obsolete. There are so few micro AIOs with UART based ELRS on board. Worst case, i will have to open this up and solder on something with a flat antenna to upgrade.

absolutely, it is not the lightest build by far. I prefer it a little heavier so that it flings a bit more since it is geared for freestyle, but on a lighter setup it would be lightning on rails for sure!

it is absolutely a bit of a chunker, lol. The digital version weighs 66g dry, 78g with a 1S 450 pack, and 90g with a 2S 450 pack. I like my freestyle focused micros a little on the heavy side, but it is absolutely just a personal preference.
