@@76williamsbh I’ve only poked around with the magic keyboard in store, but compared to that experience, this keyboard is pretty smooth. I’ve had it for about a month now and the keys feel like butter. No glitches. Just a tap or 2 to wake it up and you are good to go. Also, you can go a pretty long time before charging. I use my ipad as a backup laptop almost everyday and I’ve only charged this thing once. It’s solid.

I purchased this same one except in gray. Love it. Had to adjust the trackpad speed due to the smaller trackpad surface so now I don’t have to use up all the surface to move the pointer where I want. I also turn on trackpad tap so it acts like the Magic Keyboard and don’t have to push down to click to register my selection. Just a slight tap on the trackpad. Did I say I love it!?

Correction if I’m not mistaken the Apple Magic Keyboard does have back lighting keys. You need to turn it on via settings > keyboard.

The lack of Smart Connector is a really large downside, imo. Worth explaining it to those that don’t know! But thanks for explaining how you’ve barely charged since opening.

Some apps aren’t support full shortcut keys for this keyboard because I had one and been using it for 3 months. And the mouse isn’t smooth 120hz like iPad’s screen.

How about getting a skin for your ipad? It wont help much with fall damage, but will stop the corners from getting scratched
