Hey Carl, I've been watching your videos for a while and I find them really entertaining. Anyways, in my science class our teacher taught us about mitochondrial diseases, and how terrible the effects it has on the body are. She showed us everyday things that require energy from the mitochondria are taken for granted such as clearing your throat, and keeping your head up. Someone (who i believe is a friend of my teacher, but i could be wrong) had a child who was born with a mitochondrial disease and as such, receives very little ATP. They didn't notice until the baby wasn't hitting growth milestones such as keeping their head up, and sticking their legs out when sat down. They were expected to never live to see their 1st birthday. They however did, and today they're 18-19 years old. They have for this long been very carefully monitored and sustained by countless machines to regulate body temp, breathe, and keep a clear throat. Despite the fact that many people seem to pity her situation, shes very happy and loves her life. Do you know of anything related to this that may help and prevent situations like these in the future? Any response is appreciated, and i'm glad you took the time to read this!
