The part at 14:29 made me tear up a little, not gonna lie. I just found your videos. I’ve been watching mountain biking videos as an escape. I’ve never even been mountain biking, but I’ve wanted to go so badly. Due to COVID, I’m unable to travel very far. I’ve also been working full time and just can’t afford to take any time off. I’m exhausted and burned out, and there is seemingly no end in sight. But you give me hope. Your attitude and enthusiasm made my day. I’ve been in a rut lately but I’m hoping to come out on top. Thank you for this. Wishing you all the best. Stay safe friends.

Did Doctor Park 4 years ago, Sept 2016 and I loved it so much, I could remember every part of the trail. What I especially liked about it was you'd be flying and then come around a corner and be presented with a serious, chunky tech section with little time to think, just react, pick your line and commit. Was so sweet on my little Phantom with only 105mm of travel in the back, but perfect geo for this type of trail.

Forgot to also give a little FYI about wet shoes, in case you didn't already know it. If you've got wet shoes, get a newspaper or brown paper and crumple it up, then stuff the shoes tight with it. Leave it for a few hours to draw out the majority of the water/moisture, then remove and make sure they're opened up well and let the air do the rest - if you've got a hair dryer, that helps speed things along. You can even keep the paper and re-use it once it dries out.

I used to shred around Lake Tahoe on a rigid Bianchi back in the 1990's. I went on a vacation and when I returned home the bike was gone. Someone gave me a rigid Huffy which weighed a bit more, but I still kept up with my buddy on his hard tail with the old school RockShox forks. In fact I watched him endo every time we rode and I was clearing everything and never crashed. I attribute his frequent crashes to having only front suspension. When you land a jump or hop off a log or a rock, there is no place to go but tipping forward and WHOOP! right over the bars. I was faster than him on the downhills, and uphills for that matter. I rode that Huffy into the ground and was without a bike for a few years. Then, on a whim while at Walmart in Kansas with my brother in law, we both decided to buy the Walmart special full suspension bikes. Cheap and heavy as hell, but more fun once I got used to riding with, very stiff, but somewhat noticeable suspension. It was a whole new world compared to a rigid, no suspension bike. Then back in California a couple years later I left my bike at my usual riding partners house for a few months and when I went to get it he said, "Oh. That was YOUR bike? I didn't know so I gave it away." WTF?! Then on a work stint in the Dallas area a few years later, I got another Walmart special. The problem was that in the area I stayed I could only find one small stretch of dirt trails to ride that paralleled a paved creek path for pedestrians and bicycles. When I returned to California in January 2021 I left that bike behind. It's time to get a REAL bike. Now that I finally nailed down a good paying career. Thanks for the encouragement to get back out there! Love your content.
