I think you guys would be surprised. There are plenty of people looking for quality and willing to pay. The majority of the RV industry is crap. I think it is awesome that American mfg are starting to up the quality and, of course, with that comes the price. One other example is the the popularity of Class B Vans. They are all pretty expensive but the younger generation is really into that style.

The heavier weight aside, probably the better one to go with that's been showcased here. I love the storage features, power upgrade, metal build of literally everything. Personally the only gripe I'd have is I like to travel up North in the wet/colder Fall, which having your bigger kitchen utilities and fridge outside is really unappealing, would prefer those inside. Overall though, I'd still put this one above the others for ideal get-a-away camping to remote lakes and parks. :O

this not for typical fulltime rvers. This is meant for off road overlanding. Yes a little big for most Overlanders but that is what this trailer is for. Meant to cook outdoors and be outdoors.

I can appreciate this, but this is more expensive than my mortgage. And in ten years, my house wont be 1/4 its purchase value. For me, all of these are “aspirational” RVs. And I don’t purchase aspirational. But I do enjoy the videos. Keep ‘em coming.

There are three big names in commercial nautical and luxury yacht electronics: Raymarine, SIMRAD, and Garmin. Garmin electronics in an RV? Does it have GPS and chart plotter functions? And will it integrate with a Garmin radar unit (for detecting alien invaders, obviously)? That would be cool.

I like this rv. I've looked at the specks on their website for it, but can't find something that I need to know. It says nothing about being able to connect to shore power. Off road use looks awesome, but what about those times you want to stay in an rv park with it? What hookups can you use, 30 amp service or 50 amp? What about water and sewer hookups? Do they include sewer line, water hoses and electric cord to connect to an rv park facility? Thanks.

To assume that an unexpected increase in the cost of materials is the reason the price is $50K more than they originally claimed, is far too trusting. How about they simply realized that anything with the words “overland” or “outdoor” attached allows them to get away with overcharging their customers. I promise you they could have charged $100K and still turned a healthy profit. This is an example of the overland upcharge at its finest.
@dedalliance1 Жыл бұрын
I mean, how do you know that? I guess according to you the company is stupid and didn't know they were designing an overlander trailer when they quoted the first price so once they realized that people would camp in their camper they jacked the price up? Maybe, it's because everything is expensive, because inflation? Labor costs going up? Material costs going up? Sales people's wages going up, taxes on their properties and lots they're sold on are going up. I guess all of that didn't increase the price they're just ripping people off. You must be special.
@chadsteele1 Жыл бұрын
100% agree, the fact they charge more for certain things like off-road tires when in reality the difference price is miniscule same with the sidewalls windows Fridge etc. The stock standard prices of that equipment in reality to upgrade is not a fifty to sixty thousand and doesnt warrant that price increase. Plain and simple it is price gouging just like they do with "toyhaulers" .

As a full-time RV’r, I know RV’s. These are incredibly built and awesome, however I have to be honest and say these are SO overpriced! So much so that it gets to an insulting level. You can buy a house in most of the country for what these cost. It’s ridiculous and absurd. However again, definitely well built and nice RV’s. But c’mon with that stupid price. Disgusting! 🤦♂️
@dedalliance1 Жыл бұрын
Very few houses are 150k dollars in this country anymore. Average US Home Price is $348k dollars for 2022. Average home price in Colorado for 2022 is nearly $550k dollars. Only back east can you buy a reasonable house for under 200k these days, mostly in Iowa and southern states. But they also have terrible economies so there's that.
@IsraellDFend Жыл бұрын
@@dedalliance1 lol I get it perhaps I exaggerated a bit but you know what I mean lol. Just way overpriced in my opinion.
@dedalliance1 Жыл бұрын
@@IsraellDFend I mean it's not cheap, but quality isn't cheap. It's about the same ball park as some of the comparable Australian off road campers, about the same as an Airstream of similar size. About the same price as a Mercedes camper van. A lot of fifth wheels are in the same price range on the higher end ones. There's a some big truck bed campers that are 50-60k dollars, some pop up off road ones are 40-50k on the high end. Obviously that's cheaper but price per square foot it's not cheaper. The problem isn't really that these things are expensive, the problem is wages haven't kept up with inflation for the past 40-50 years. Since the majority of people make garbage wages these days it makes everything seem expensive. You wanna pay for quality materials made by skilled labor it's going to be expensive, this is a mostly US made product it's not chinese slave labor like we've been used to for decades. Take our jobs back from China and we'd be able to afford nicer things because we'd all have better opportunities to make more money by using our skilled labor verses other countries slave labor.
@IsraellDFend Жыл бұрын
@@dedalliance1 you know what that was very well said. I still think it’s very expensive and as I mentioned, they are very well-built and I certainly agree on the quality part. I just feel personally that the cost outweighs the quality but I could be wrong.
@dedalliance1 Жыл бұрын
@@IsraellDFend Everything's relative when it comes to cost and value. Like he said in the video, that trailer has the most suspension travel of any trailer on the market in the US. So if that was the value point, there's nothing else you can just buy here without custom building one. Everything boils down to what someone wants out of their purchase. I live not too far from an Earth Roamer facility off of I-25 here in Colorado. Talking 500k-1 million dollar or more vehicles. There's really nice motorhomes that are 1-2 million dollars. The average joe's not gonna be buying any of these so it's kinda a mute point in that regard but there are people where money isn't a concern. I know a guy with horses that cost more than this camper does. If he wanted the best off road camper in this size category there's not many other options. So the value's there, but it's for people with too much money not for the family of 4 trying to take their kids to the beach on the weekend. But here's the thing. Toyota Owns Lexus, Toyota can't sell a Camry for 50k dollars, but they can sell a Lexus for 50k all day. Toyota invests high end technology into the Lexus brand and figures out how it holds up in the real world how the customers respond to the tech advances and then when that tech becomes mass produced and affordable it gets passed down to the Toyota Brand and put into cheaper cars. Cars used to not have cruise control, that technology was bought and paid for by wealthy people in higher end brands, and then heated seats, and cooled seats, and blind spot monitors, and crash avoidance, and it's now that higher end cars have self driving in 10 years that'll be a standard option. So the technology they're putting into this camper might be unaffordable to most of us normal people today, but in 10 years a lot of it's going to be standard technology in the lesser brands. So that's all it is at the end of the day. I think it's great that they're trying new technology doing the air ride doing the Lithium and Solar doing aluminum with composite materials because then eventually that technology will get cheaper and cheaper to produce and more efficient to produce so it can be less expensive. Don't get me wrong, 150k dollars isn't cheap but it's far from the most expensive rig on the market. Which is a good sign, because it won't be long until the technology is in everyday products that are more affordable.
