I hope everyone who build their gear this much enjoys creating with it. I went through a phase where I always thought more was better and I slowly lost the joy in filming. Fast forward a a few years I’m back to the minimal super basics. I shot with a DJI pocket 3, a Panasonic 981k and a DJI action and I absolutely enjoy it again. I do have to mention that I don’t shot professionally, it’s all to keep everyday memories.

I agree wholeheartedly. To be honest, I love shooting with the FX3 as bare as it can be especially for this kind of content. Its less stressful and easy to carry. Though this has a place for more specific shoots. I love that you found a sweet spot for filming memories. Nothings better than that. Thanks for sharing.

My thoughts?? It looks horrifically top heavy with the monitor so high. But if it works for you, it works for you.

I do agree that yes it is a bit more top heavy, though its just tricky to really place the monitor anywhere else. Though this is great on sticks and handheld has been not too bad.

@@Addrian. On my rigs (granted the A7Siii and A74), I forgo a top handle and mount the monitor with a tilt/swivel mount directly to the top of the cage and then use side handles for transport/holding. Not sure what your aversion to rails are, but I use short 6" rails to hold my V-mount battery plate. I suppose one day, I should post videos of my camera builds.

@@goodeggproductions I've done that myself as I have a a7SIII and a7IV, although with the FX3 the cage is different where the hotshoe is so my cage is essentially a two piece cage. The set up you're talking about would work great. The top handle is good if you're running multiple mics or need XLR inputs. I'd be keen to see your set up
