oh it sure does make sense, it's kinda like handing someone a business card. People get linked to a platform that's instantly displaying all my content plus they can easily msg me directly (instagram in this case, since I don't have a website as of now)

@@stargirlballet If im using someone’s music in a video and they wanna check it out, the first thing their doing isnt messaging you, its gonna be watching and listening to the song. They’ll look at all of that stuff after they check out the video considering its in your description. Like, if someone says “hey that song youre listening to is cool can i get the link to it?” I’m gonna give them the link to the song, not a link to an instagram. Even if they’d have the option, they’d pick the link the the song, then they’d check out your instagram. I personally wouldnt, and dont want any links to other platforms in my description, and even if i did it would add clutter to my description. I’m all for crediting the music i use in my videos. helps out the viewers and the artists, but this seems like free self promotion for just using your one song. More power to you ig tho

They made an awesome sounding song and were even courteous enough to allow people to freely use it in their videos, they're allowed to stipulate any credit requirements they want. They should definitely be freely promoted for their talent and the time put into making this and letting people use it 🤷

@@TheFyrewire but giving a link to all of your songs, especially if you don’t even make money off of KZbin is kinda scummy. Adding a link to the Instagram isn’t necessary. While them people use the song in their video is cool, them doing that is gonna add reach to their song. I’m not against crediting the song, but crediting the actual Instagram is the thing I’m on the fence about and it feels like they’re judging trying to take advantage of that reach as much as possible.

@@Roxleton In my experience, if someone doesn't want to check out a link they won't. If I were using this in a video I'd just say "song: (KZbin link)" and then the line below "artist: (IG link)". Only takes an extra line for something that's likely at the bottom of everything anyway. I get where you're coming from but it's just not that big of a deal in my opinion 😅
