The neat thing about this technique is...the greater the height difference the stronger the technique becomes. There is a height difference where the lapelgrip gives less returns. In that situation i would use a moroteseoiotoshi(the same way) and taiotoshi from a crossgrip(Or do weekly forearmtraining).Because Taiotoshi is such a versatile technique i would encourage everyone to find a general Taiotoshi when the opponent is same height, bigger or smaller.

Awsome method with the cair..never seen that before. Would you feel doing something similar but anchoring bands high on a pull up bar would also work?

Yes. The whole idea is getting used to throwing your weight forward. So, if you can do that with bands, that would be a good way too. Dave

I love this throw and this particular version. What do you think about this style of tai otoshi?
