this is sweet i found a 2019 roscoe 8 with slx brakes and gx drivetrain with a 160mm fox 36 and many other upgrades for only 1200 and there has been nothing wrong with it and it’s been a great bike for my aggressive riding style

Robert, are talking about running a bike “mullet style”? 29er in the front 27.5 in the rear? The Roscoe in this video is already running 2.8” width tires front and back.

XC frame with trail components bro legit upgrade to a 140mm 29er fork and. Run a mullet setup perfect for trail setup better than the current Roscoe 8

@bowie - that set up on an old Roscoe frame is not even close to a modern Roscoe. The old frame is not made for 140mm fork so the geo will be all off, it’s also not set to run mullet… so again the bike will handle like crap… and you will still be stuck with a steep HT angle and QR 141 read axel. Trying to make an XC frame into a trail bike is not the way to go. Just start off with a better bike and upgrade as you see fit. If you didn’t know the old Roscoe and the Trek X-caliber are the same frame, just different components… X-cal is an XC set up and the Roscoe was supposed to be a trail set up.

Sure you know this. Unlike the Specialized Fuse, the Roscoe was not designed from the ground up to be a plus bike. It is really an X-Caliber turned into a plus bike. That is why the max tire size is 2.8 as a true plus bike can take 3.0 tires. Using 141qr or turning the X-Calber into a plus were things Trek did to cut cost and for a time were a good idea performace for price wise. But recently these things were holding Trek back and getting them some hate. I got a Roscoe 6 during the pandemic due to the bike shortage. Over time I upgraded to not only improve the bike but as a way to improve my mechnical skills as well. Thinking about keeping it for a while and selling or trading on later this summer.@@TheMTB103

Bikes were super hard to find during the Pandy… but lots of good used bikes on the market now and shops are getting inventory back. If you are feeling the urge to upgrade from the Marlin now is not a bad time

Haha no, it’s a long story, but a guy has a bike stolen and insurance paid him for it… he has these in his garage for 2 years and wanted to get rid of them finally
