I love when this game get's this kind of recognition/appreciation. It's my favorite game, and will only get better when they add more quest types, bandits, and story/end game to it. Not to mention all the overhaul mods there are now. And there will be even more once it starts using the steam workshop!

Well they defintely been straying from the 7 days concept I use to love: Item use and physical/mental use = lvl gain < Magazines today (It kinda took the MMO grind out of it in that way with the mags) Main menu in telltale version has solo with difficulty modes then play also multiplayer creative. New versions feel like a server program at the main menu that you must tweak with settings in order to play. BTW these settings you can change at anytime. I've joined alot of server where they turn of the zombie for a bit just to loot an area then turn them back on. This should be a multiplayer creative option only. So now a survival game your forced to survive in is just as E for Everyone Minecraft. Minecraft has better menu and integrated mods into the game itself as DLC. I find myself playing the old 7 days to die. More players join my servers and its far more eerie and hard then the new 7 days. TFP need to make a better menu....a remake of the telltale version menu. TFP need to have forced survival modes. The menu feels like a server program no feel for a solo/campaign mode. Both versions are fun and if you have a ps4 you play the telltale. Ps5 1.0. PC ANY(Duh) I find myself visiting areas in the telltale version and then playing Alpha 21 and 1.0 to see what has changed and vice versa vice versa versa vice vice verse xenoverse? 🏖

I sort of like and dislike that change. It was annoying having to have pure water and murky water for certain recipes bit was nice to get so many jars easily by just using small amount of sand. Then just bottle like 125 of them and boil them. So easy to get water. The change though that all recipes use boiled water is awesome. Makes it so much better

We need this level of being able to effect the world in an coop RPG as well, this idea must be developed and improved and more games made that the player can literally change the game, as Gabe said, the fun comes from the effect of the player on the game, this is the ultimate expression of this, together with games like minecraft they show what is possible, it's just scratching the surface of a glorious gaming future.

Over 2200 hrs in the game and I still love it. It is thee best zombie -craft survival game out there. Nothing comes close to it in its genre.

7 days to die still has some major problems, mostly in it shadows and light sources, but even with its problems, it is still one of the most addictive games currently available. I have discovered that I have no heart problems and hesitate when going to the toilet late at night after playing the game.

I agree with the first part! I think the research really needs a rework, but that might be better for a sequel. Same with shadows and lighting, but those have still been massively improved. As for the second part......👍

I 1000% agree the randomness of it is a little frustrating

It use to be this way but earning skill by doing was easily exploited. One could gather crafting materials then sit in base and craft thousands of stone axes to max out their skill. The change of linking skill advancement to the magazines encourages people to stop turtling in base and explore some of the time. If playing multiplayer, a person can still turtle in base if their buddies bring them magazines from afar. I use to enjoy staying in base to craft and mine but now I play the game as intended and explore, quest and build.

It's really fun to play and I enjoyed it. I just wish it ran like an actually optimized game on my device (that and the lack of promised features even though this is supposed to be the full release).

Oh I Admittedly didn't keep an eye on announced features, what was left out?

@LCTVLIVE If I recall correctly, when this game was being publicly funded. There was a promise to add human enemy AI, like bandits. The enemies were supposed to be related to the Duke, the guy who left you a note after stealing everything from you at the start of the game. I'm not sure if it has been addressed and if the bandits were scrapped. But it is a bit disappointing not getting that feature implemented.

@@LCTVLIVE Agreed, but it thankfully isn't too big of a deal right now. I feel like what is most important is for the developers to make what is currently in the game as good as it can possibly be. Making the game perform better so the steam deck can consistently get 60fps is a good place to start for The Fun Pimps.

The progression system is fine, invest level up points into whatever category you want to find more magazines with im doing a 4 man server with my irls and I’ve gotten most of my skills to be maxed out by wearing nerd gloves when I read magazines for the 25% chance to gain an extra skill point when reading magazines and wearing full nerd armor I barely repair my stuff and I get hella XP. There’s so many ways to progress quicker it’s just not in your face lol

@@LCTVLIVE I’ve only been playing this version since I put 1k+ hrs into the first console version for like a week and a half and I’m still learning new things and mechanics every day it’s wonderful. My only complaint was the Series S being locked to only hosting duos but that’s a hardware issue rather than the devs fault, but my fiancé went and got a Series X so we could host a full one so it’s fine. We love this game around here we spent $500 on a new console to play it lmao 😂

It's *good,* but not perfect. From a game designer's perspective , I think they need to (1) tweak how progression interacts with their dynamic difficulty (either making all talents provide combat value or by giving you 1 combat and 1 non-combat talent per level so there's no weirdness), (2) fix the "offline game design" thinking they have regarding day/night and Blood Moons (where often the correct choice feels like "well I'll just logoff and when I come back it'll probably just be a better time of day"), (3) not enough big challenges; it's a zombie game, I want there to be minor threats that I can handle solo easily but also major threats that are just not possible solo (big zombie-swarmed places), and lastly (4) I think there's a lot of potential for spacing out the weapon types they have, for example maybe Batons can't "cleave" at all but excel (as they already do) at stuns, but Clubs are amazing for doing full damage in their cleave (but they shouldn't be as good at stunning); basically each weapon should feel substantially different, and there's a little of that currently, but not enough.

The update is vastly improved over the original, but still feels outdated. Don't get me wrong, I still love the game and will put in hundreds of hours into it. I just hope they do a sequel using a different game engine. Imagine the crafting from this game, zombies from Days Gone, and the mining from Space Engineers rolled into one.

Tell that Telltale games. They released the old console version (they got the license from the FunPimps). FunPimps had to claw the license to their own game back via court. They can't even tell who bought the game abck in the day, because they never sold it to you (Telltale did).

Mostly playing it because i can build like Minecraft with better graphics but other than that its boring no lore no story same zombie skin 5-6 zombies only (looks same) and no paint colours. in game immersion i like project zomboid so much realistic its just missing first person adaptation.

As a console player I’ve gone back to the ps4 version. There is no more survival in the 1.0 version. They should change the name to The Magazine Collector or maybe The Traders Slave? I don’t know.

Yea that's definitely my biggest complaint, they need to make it so we get to upgrade a skill by doing it. Magazines should boost skills not be the be all end all. Thanks for commenting!

So far I'm not a huge fan of 1.0. Empty jars being gone makes no sense to me, and progression being tied to RNG (book farming) throws me off. I lost interest

Actually both of those complaints I 100% agree with! It seems odd that both water and progress are tied to rng. Like currently I'm trying to electrify my friend and I'm base but I literally can't find the mags for it.

are the pimps paying you? i have 280 hours in this game it was better before 1.0 the epic servers suck, and have not stopped sucking. Coop is horrible. They added jiggle physics to undead female zombies. The vehicles still take way too much dmg. The zombie pathing has yet to improve. it took 40 hours to find find ACID. Project zombiod is still a better game.

I actually don't know what epic servers are, I only play coop with my friends we have a great time, since I moved to japan it's one of the few games we play together so it's a lot of fun! I don't know what you mean by vehicles, if you mean player vehicles then I don't damage those cause it's only my friends. If you mean breaking down parked cars I agree it def used to be faster. I haven't played project zomboid but I'm not a huge fan of the camera angle it utilizes. That being said I have heard nothing but good things! Thanks for commenting! PS I am not being paid lol
