A year later, I'm sitting in my chair at 10 past 11 pm, watching this. This is the greatest nostalgia-trip for me. I'm currently playing on Kronos and I'm looking forward to 60, to start the pvping. Fucking'ell. This feels like my childhood in a way. I want to get in touch with him once more, just to thank him for everything he has done for me as a gamer.

I've commented on this video twice already, expressing how much Perklunt meant to my childhood and what not. Now that classic has dropped I'm back to leveling an undead rogue (Kilor Stonespine-EU, come join me!) A childhood friend of mines older brother showed us Perklunt, Flent and Grim. This older brother sadly passed away two months ago, so I'll keep playing to honor his memory, and all the childhood-memories he gave us. Cheers, and take care of each other.

I'd kill to get the chance to talk to him. I remember back in the day, when I first saw his videos, I made a char on Grim Batol and whispered him. He inspired my playstyle as a rogue forever.

This guy's vids were my original inspiration to roll a Rogue back in Vanilla...loved it then and in BC, lost interest in Wrath & Cata though once HP started skyrocketing and it was just not as fun or as easy to CC and have long, rough fights anymore. RIP Golden Age for Rogue PVP

So many people talking about him fighting pve players. Like wtf, there was almost no difference in pvp and pve gear in vanilla. Not to mention, *he's using pve gear.
@Denkart10 жыл бұрын
Exactly. PvE gear WAS PvP gear except for the very few who grinded out to rank 14 in pvp which took months of non stop grinding. Everyone else was using PvE gear. Even Perklunt was using PvE gear.

Both of you prolly never played vanilla, even if yes, im sure u never reached any good ranks in pvp.
@fyrn17726 жыл бұрын
@Vasya Pupkin except when that random ass warr backpaddles in your face an blows your fucking face off the earth with a white swing. But yeah mate, vanilla sure aint about that gear!
@810wasaninsidejob96 жыл бұрын
Before PVP gear update, PVE gear was way better for most classes. Even after that, T2.5 was better than rank 13 gear and AQ40 weapons were also better than rank 14 weapons. PVP gear only got updated once so it eventually fell behind. People who didn't play Vanilla just do not understand how things worked back then, when 95% of people clicked and keyboard turned. It took a very long time for people to realize movement is just as important as abilities.

Yeah looking back at the video 5 years later I noticed all the videos flaws including killing underlevel enemies / PvE enemies but this is still one of my favorite pvpers and videos because of the music and because this guy was doing shit no other rogues were doing at the time like gouge-restealthing. I also just love his style in general. When I hit lvl 60 on my rogue I studied this video and became better at PvP in the matter of days.

Fighting multiple enemies has always been fascinating to me. Like, the one he is fighting two enemies, he first kills the mage and... Oh wait, the warrior guy wasn't actually engaged with him, he was just casually farming mobs near the mage guy. The sequence is the same in each fight. How is this brilliant at all?
@JohnDoe-fo3fn5 жыл бұрын
For the sake of argument, rogues were quite a cooldown dependent class. Beating any mage was tricky, especially running 31/8/12 as Perk did so you only had one vanish every 5 minutes. This made chaining kills in 1v1 play rather difficult. But mostly what is brilliant about this is he was playing at a pretty high level when most people were keyboard turning and back-peddling. You can't really compare the early greats to people playing now that the mechanics have been fully discovered and fleshed out. He was simply better than the rest at the time.
