Was free on ps+ a few months ago. I finally played it. Honestly, super good game! It's like a combination of bioshock 1/2, dishonoured & dead space 1/2. Only gripe is that you can't run, but can teleport very frequently.

@@matuza1020 be sure to upgrade your stats at the recovery area & definitely equip the schematic that suits your playstyle. Atm I'm using a loot heavy playstayle. Both in character & suit. Once I'm done upgrading, I'm going full on attack, so armory discount & weapon damage increase

An alternative would be to grav hook him out of bounds. That kills him instantly and is pretty funny but you gotta be in certain locations for that

So far my TOP 2 VR ps4 videogames are Resident Evil 7 and The Persistence. They are the more complex videogames in exploration and interaction that don't get boring compared to the other straight forward simple path shooters that do.

At first I noticed after you die, the same area and layout you need to explore again will change a bit by random which kind of ruined this game, including zombies, other enemies, items, will appear at different locations after you die. But then I discovered as soon as you are dying to quickly select CONTINUE and the game will reload at the beginning of that area with no change at all to the area, layout, all zombies, enemies, items, upgrade weapon buying consoles are exactly the same and appearing exactly where there were originally. That's important because if I come across a zombie with a gun and he kills me, I could select CONTINUE before i'm dead and the exact layout will reload again allowing me to buy a gun or other weapon in a console to shoot that zombie waiting for me in that room so I won't die. Thank goodness because now I can fully enjoy this amazing videogame the way I want to play.

Do you find the game scary? I'm a horror veteran, vr and out and this game gets me the most freaked out during combat. 100% more tense than dead space or RE. The enemies scream and bum rush you and in vr its fucking scary in the best way

I platinumed the game in PS5, and i should say, this game is *AWESOME.* Terrifying enemies, scary environment, and most importantly, a tough game. I played the Enhanced version and going back to the PS4 version, i experienced camera and moviment drift, besides that, it's worth playing the game both on last gen and next gen. I didn't played the game on VR, so i can only say what i experienced on the flat screen. The Enhanced version for PS5 offers a great use of the DualSense, and even scarier experience due to extreme graphic fidelity and ray tracing. I would give the PS4 version a 8.5/10 and PS5 A 9.5/10. The only thing that would make this game better on PS4 is a significant increase of shadow quality (Enough to make the game 30fps on PS4 Phat and PS4 Slim, and make a greater use of the PS4 Pro hardware) and moderated use of the DualShock vibration (The vibration can be felt while walking, which is an overuse of the vibration motors, that is not present on the Enhanced version of the game), in general, i think the developers could add a button to make the character run (like L3), then, the game would be a 10/10 in both versions.

Second survival horror game I've played in my life. Second only to Friday the 13th, which I play alot. This game is scary as hell, especially at night, which I'm playing right now. Kinda reminds me of a first person Super Metroid, but with no checkpoints.

@@annieisnotpostinganyvids4678 thats a bummer, lucky for you, non VR games are sort of the default. If vertigo is your issue. Playing seated can help, also I find click turning much more comfortable than smooth turning in VR games. Also, when I was still building up my "VR legs" I found deep breathing very helpful for alleviating any motion sickness I was experiencing. Most VR games these days have excellent comfort customization options. But yea, I stand by what I said that VR adds a ton to the persistence as an experience, it's the best way to play (if you are comfortable in a headset). And on a scale of 1 to 10 in terms of comfort I'd give Persistence a 9+. It's very stable in terms of performance and you never move too fast.

But he’s still completely wrong because as a few mentioned above, it is out now on nintendo switch no VR version with updated controls to make it more of a traditional first person shooter with a controller etc.

Nawwww you're looking at it all wrong. Roguelikes and lites have endless replayability because of that permadeath. Unlike other games, it isn't just "over" once you beat it once. You can keep playing it over and over and constantly feel like it's a new game.
