Over mothered and under fathered ... In some cases, this syndrome happens due to unhealed childhood trauma or abuse, abandonment wounds, childhood emotional neglect or narcissistic abuse. We often see things and navigate relationships at the point we had the most trauma so imagine if most of their trauma was experienced at a very young age. They will become emotionally stuck at that age until they heal the trauma, abuse or abandonment wounds/injuries. Disclaimer: it’s not your job to fix them; for one you can’t because it’s an inside job. You need to fix the toxic patterns within yourself that allowed you to entertain him.

Blue Eyes Absolutely not. You can’t fix it!! That’s an inside job. Maybe I need to add that as a disclaimer. It’s not your job to fix it. You have to focus on your own inner work & healing especially if you entertained a Peter Pan.

Thank you oh how I have identified these toxic patterns that allowed me to entertain these type of MEN. I have been on a journey of healing my own childhood wounds and discovered that I was an empath and the same man had the same wounds that attracted. You see journaling is a wonderful thing and I had to identify what was toxic with each man and how it identified with me. Yes it is an inside job and I'm still on that journey within.

Wow this sounds like my fiance. I’m beyond sick of his laziness and inability to follow through with anything. The red flags I overlooked were the fact he filled his time with video games and he didn’t believe in marriage. He works making a decent salary but he refused to save for retirement or put money in savings. He’d wine and dine me but wouldn’t spend money on responsible things. I threatened to leave him and he changed. He became financially responsible, reduced playing games, ect so I stayed. When we moved in together I saw a new side to him.. he wouldn’t pick up behind himself, assist with planning vacations, or follow through with basic tasks such as go to the DMV. He blamed his laziness on the fact he grow up with traditional parents and his mother did all cleaning and responsibilities, while his dad cheated on his mother over and over. So he didn’t know he was supposed to help me. I’ve yelled and screamed and nagged and he’s improved a little but now I see him as a child and I don’t respect him. Most recently he has refused to get his vehicle inspected. The car has been towed a million times but he has procrastinated for a year on getting the proper tags. The more I urged him to go to the dmv the more he drug his feet, telling me he doesn’t like being told what to do. He also hasn’t helped me plan our wedding, previously saying that’s a woman’s job. The other day he called me and said he’s ready to be more responsible and he wants to move forward with the wedding planning but I’m seriously doubting he has really changed and I don’t feel like continuing to invest in this relationship.

Men who say "Never date single moms" have Peter Pan syndrome too. They need mom figures so they're attracted to single moms first but then realize moms are too busy to take care them, so they get whiny like "She never puts ME first! me, me ,me!" If they are grown up men, they should understand and even help their girls.

Interesting- since the 90s I had started to think of man-children as the sort of men who always expect a big party or outing on otherwise meaningless occasions like their birthday, in the manner of little boys expecting toys, and/or who expect a partner to always cater to their needs and complain when this does not happen instantly, or who complain about their partner never taking responsibility for their mistakes but not bothering to do so themselves, or who expect all their most trifling whims to be taken for urgent needs or difficult passions to be catered to without any effort to do the same in reverse.

The narc ex/son’s father conditioned me for 3 years too. However, 2020 was when I consciously washed my hands of his weak ass. I already have a son, I don’t need another.

You can spot these types in the manosphere easily. They are the ones saying they are the prize and they expect women to chase them.

There is a very fine line between Peter Pan and a narcissist!! 🤷🏽♀️ Either way run cuz they are energy vampires.

I don't see a difference other than 1 is a psychology term and the other is a slang term. Both are self centered, lack empathy and immature. Seems like an issue with that person's spirit moreso than the people they target to use and abuse.

@@teeb2681 Oedipal complex is not the same as the NPD. The starting point of these deviations is at different age in life. Peter Pan is reversable with therapy, NPD is not.

I met a guy like this when I was 18 and we where at a vocational school. He seem fun and chill at first but once we where done with the course and it was time to find jobs I realized that he didn't want anything out of life. He would rather play video games all day rather than find a job meanwhile I already had a job and was saving for college. This guy never took me on a date or done anything for me but as soon as I started making money he wanted me to buy games for him! Imagine that. I am just glad I was smart enough to never do so and I jumped head first out of that relationship. A lot of young guys now a days are like that.

Haha 😂😂😂 Now? 2003 killed all hope for me. And he was almost a black belt. Told me his plan after HS was just to chill and live of mom. My ex husband did that too, refused to leave his parents, then ended up needing me to speak to some deportation judge. I kindly texted mommy 😊 number, seems like he forgot who his real wife was.

Witnessed a peter pan with two clearly weak minded parents. His parents are getting older and are sick and working full time while he who is 30+ sits at the house makes grandkids and asks what's for dinner. And I really don't feel bad for his parents at this point, that is what they allowed.
@lisalisa32234 жыл бұрын
That's why Chloe says ppl that do that are enablers. i wouldn't feel bad for them either.

This is exactly how I ended a one and a half year relationship with a peter pan. I just blocked him with no conversation. He drained my life, if I stayed any longer I would have slept one day and not wake up.

Another sign of men that women should avoid is a man who never lead any important decisions in his life, girl has to initiate a marriage, initiate finding a good job, initiate a separation and finally initiate a divorce.

My older brothers are all bums, I always wondered why so many women were having children with them. Fortunately, we have diff moms but unfortunately share the same Peter Pan dad... ugh, my parents are divorced because my dad, not surprisingly, has been a selfish jackass the last 30 plus years... Chloe is right they never grow up. My oldest brother is turning 52 and 14 all at once this year 🤪🙄 with a quarantine baby on the way by some idiot woman my age (30-ish). I’ve already blocked her 😤 I don’t wanna be friends. I’m good 💅🏾
