Have you ever gotten mad over something that - in hindsight - seemed silly? How long did that grudge last? Did it span decades? If not, you're still doing better than many of the people on this list. These are some of the most heated feuds in history - from battling brothers, to parents and children, to former friends. Sometimes there's one thing that just pushes someone over the edge, and from that point on, it's war.
To read about more petty feuds, go here: www.ranker.com...

When the movie The Dirty Dozen was in preproduction, the studio didn't know who to hire to direct because it would include dealing with an ensemble of very macho actors who possibly might clash during filming. One of the main reasons Robert Aldrich ultimately got the job was because he directed Whatever Happened to Baby Jane? and the studio figured that if he could handle Davis and Crawford on the same set, he could handle anything...

The thing that tipped Houdini to Doyle’s wife as a liar was that Houdini’s mother was devoutly Jewish (Houdini’s father was a Rabbi), yet the “auto writing” made several allusions to Christianity.
@Goodiesfanful

And Doyle was a gullible man, believing in fairies and totally taken in by the Cottingley fairy fraud. You would think anyone could see the fairies in the photos were just paper cut-outs.
@charlesedwards2856
@charlesedwards2856 Ай бұрын
Not only that, but Houdini’s mother really only spoke Hungarian because her English wasn’t very good, and the writing was in English when Doyle’s wife didn’t know Hungarian. In short, there were a lot of red flags against Doyle’s wife on this that proved Houdini right.

I can understand Samuel Longhorn Clemons (Mark Twain) and his aversion to USPS. Most recently, somehow the postage, affixed in my hometown by a USPS employee, was peeled off my package in North Houston. The package stayed in the online system for a week after being returned. Instead of using an official notice and affixing it with glue or regular tape, the postal worker put a Post-It note on it, claiming I needed postage, and taped it in place with Priority Mail tape.

You could have used King Edward VIII instead of Princess Beatrice. She blamed him for Albert’s death, because Albert went after him when he was fooling around with women out of wedlock, and she believed the poor weather and rain is what got Albert sick and that’s what killed him. There was a strain between those two from then on… He wasn’t really allowed to be sad about his father or reminisce about him in Queen Victoria’s presence. 😐

George Washington and Benedict Arnold. Benedict Arnold was a turncoat. Branded by the continental army as a traitor. He believed that the British would welcome him with open arms. The British army branded him as a coward and traitor. The general of the British army, whose name escaped me at the moment, made sure that he was well taken care of in confinement. People believe that propaganda during war is a modern invention. It certainly isn't. My personal favorite feud from a bit before that time is Benjamin Franklin and John Partridge. Poor Richard's Almanak predicted the imminent death of John Partridge in every issue. When John Partridge died, the very next issue said that they were pleased that John Partridge finally accepted his fate. It's something that you could never think about doing today. When people think about Benjamin Franklin, they think of this stodgy guy with no sense of humor, a proper man who would never have a chance to be wild as he was doing science and making kites. When people dive into Benjamin Franklin, wow. Motley Crew in the 1980s at the height of their popularity has nothing on him. Benjamin Franklin is one of the people that I insist people learn about. People have forgotten due to people wanting to sanitize history about how much of a rock star type life Benjamin Franklin lived. There has been a few books written about the sexual exploits of Benjamin Franklin. Historians seem to be mixed on them. I've never read them, but I find it interesting they exist.
