Grew up with I am Legend as a kid, and have to agree 100%. The visual design of his M4 with the Acog has always been one of my favorite, and one of the most iconic (to me) designs

This is going to be a great channel. I can’t wait for more content. But, when you were mentioning how the movie was supposed to be made multiple times previously, I am disappointed in you both for not mentioning “The Omega Man” starring none other than the late great Charlton Heston, symbolic spokesperson for the NRA for many years. The Omega Man was not a perfect movie and did not have the same impact at that time, but is still culturally significant to this podcast and discussion. I appreciate you both and looking forward to more content on this channel.

I know this is gonna sound corny af, but one of my favorite movie firearms is the Glock 17 Combat Master in 9mm that Betty Gilpin uses in the film The Hunt (2020). The dark green color of the slide combined with the Red Dot makes the gun look so badass.

So many movies to dive into! Classics like Die Hard and Lethal Weapon to Collateral, Bourne, Wick, etc! Movies where the protagonists rifle or handgun are a character unto themselves... Gotta look at John Travolta with that P226 X5 in From Paris With Love, Nicolas Cage and the twin gold 1911's from Face Off! Of course the Bad Boys films! And Speaking of Michael Bay, gotta look at 13 Hours (now it makes sense on how Salient Arms had a rifle or two in there). And that's just the start of the list.

Jon Erik Hexum put a 44 mag revolver, with blanks, against his head, thinking it would be safe, and pulled the trigger. That blank broke his skull and killed him. Another note, Legend was the 3rd taken from that book. Vincent Price, Charlton Heston, and now Will Smith.

When I bought my first Colt knew nothing other than it was an AR and it was Colt. The more I learned how to use it and more about it, I found out it was a 6920 Law Enforcement, minus the full auto, (damn it) let alone the model that was used in the movie. And yes, movie that use guns that are out of time period, I have been saying that for years. Even seen a few in the past few years that I had to say “Yeah they didn’t have that then.” Or “That option wasn’t available yet.” The worse you see it is in them old Westerns from the 1970’s backwards. When the 1873 Colt is used before they came out.

I know we’re talking about the guns, but can we talk about why they took the scene of him still in the Mustang out of the movie? I remember them doing like a whole behind-the-scenes before the movie came out with the mustang crashing through the dealership windows only to be in the movie.

Im so happy that he went into how guns are researched for the time period or if its a zombie or apocalypse type movie the guns need to be consistent for when manufacturing stops .... I utterly hate it in a show or movie when lets say the world is supposed to end in 2005 and then a CZ Scorpion Evo shows up or a Bren 2 or Beretta ARX 160... Ect.. Im def gun autistic so I like when the people who make the moveis actually put the effort in to understand what weapons would be available and what guns would be appropriate (using correct or at least close to correct standard issue guns for military or police units)

The original ending is the one only that makes sense in light of the title of the film. He realizes that he's become a legendary serial killer among the infected. "I Am Legend." And he does the only thing he can do to atone for that. It was changed because stupid test screening audiences don't understand these things.
@cgmason7568

Yeah, The Omega Man with Charlton Heston probably has the ending more consistent with the book of him becoming the monster, similar to the alternate ending of Will Smiths I Am Legend.

Cool podcast. Few critiques… Colion didn’t get to talk enough to keep balance. Talk more about the rifle. Prop up the rifle where we can see it. The ending of I Am Legend didn’t make any sense… he didn’t have to die. Great movie otherwise. Great rifle. Gonna have to check out the book.
