Yessir standard chainsaw design. The piston acts as the bottom of the transfer ports when at bottom dead center, fuel mix sliding by the piston itself and up into the cylinder transfer.
@LAHover3 жыл бұрын
Yup, and the "wings" on the bottom of the cylinder are simply there to seal off the case where the old transfers would be... I am wondering if filling the old case transfers would act like case stuffing. As of right now they are just empty space, but I don't know if the outcome would be positive or negative.
@abikelife14813 жыл бұрын
@@LAHover yeah give it a try! If you have an old YD case to experiment with. My hypothesis is that it would not hurt anything at all, perhaps even improve a little bit. I think it would aid to keep gas concise, dense, directed, and channeled with shortest route possible up to the cylinder. Maybe even increase compression a bit like you mentioned similiar to stuffing. But I dont know, I dont have one of these bad boys, so I am just working off of the short videos I have seen and my imagination. Idk, maybe the case transfer ramps there are actually beneficial with this cylinder, allowing like a staging area for gas to hangout before entering cylinder. Maybe one stroke pulls gas from intake into bottom of the case and transfers etc, then the second stroke pulling gas from that upper area transfer ramps area into the cylinder. Lol I have no clue, just imagining and hypothesizing but it is fun to think about. Makes sense this engine is a great performing since that old saying "no replacement for displacement" I bet they will continue to make these top end kits a hair bigger, a hair bigger, every couple of years to squeeze out every penny, rather than making a big jump up to a 100cc and missing out on all the purchases in between.

Yes they make tons of power but they have VERY limited range, the charging process is slow and adding more batteries makes the bike very heavy. If we compare those super expensive electric builds to these cheap 2 stroke china dolls its also not fair. A Yamaha YZ250 2 stroke engine makes 50HP and with the gas tank will be much lighter than an electric build of comparable power, plus you will have much higher range and no waiting to charge.

A combination of the rods drilled/lightened and few holes in the piston skirt & maybe piston pin to lighten & increase lubrication I bet would help (not on the Phantom engine but other 2 strokes)

they try to keep the size small, because it's used on a bicycle. that's why you have less cooling fins on the cylinder head. what matters is hold it up to the light, and you can then see the actual cylinder, which is way fatter. just by this video I can tell that cylinder looks more like a soda can(😵👍), then compared to a weed eater looking, tiny little, Big Bite hot dog size 49cc,66cc, & similar 2 strokes. I'm curious about the stroke, if it's still a short stroke of the earlier 66cc, with a soda can piston. I can tell you this, it's definitely not a square motor (square motor = any motor where the bore & stroke are identical, or almost identical in size. either way, the motor is going to be a powerhouse. now another interesting question. have they use the same clutch, or is it an upgraded clutch? I guess I'll just have to finish watching the video (@7:50), and find out. 💢🥴💯
