One of the times I saw this on Broadway during the, I’m here…I’m here…I’m here scene the gun didn’t fire. There was a second of silence and Steve Barton who was Raul at the time said… “You fool…why didn’t you shoot? The opposite of the normal line. There were a few chuckles in the theatre that realized the blooper, but it seemed most didn’t realize the mistake. I’ve seen it many times and that’s the only blooper that’s happened.

It's good improvising when a prop doesn't work. But it's also very funny character wise. Raoul: you fool! I said only when necessary! >:O Also Raoul: ... You fool. You didn't even try. :/

It is so hard to describe what it is to watch this in front of your eyes. No video will ever translate what Phantom of the Opera is. Thank you for sharing! I am now looking forward to watch the new re-staged version in São Paulo, Brazil which has shown to be very promising. Especially when all songs will be sung in such a romantic language like Portuguese.

This was actually just the Australian Tour that included stops in Melbourne, Sydney, and Perth that launched in 2007- not the World Tour. The World Tour launched in South Africa in 2012 with Jonathan Rouxmouth as The Phantom.
@dianadechagny5 жыл бұрын
No. The World Tour are we know it first ran in 2004-2009 and the revival ran in 2012-2016. Both of those tours started in South Africa and covered many Asian cities. The later also went through Australia. That is of coarse if you don't count the Canadian Far East tour that ran 1995-1997 to be the first world tour. And we know this to not be just a strictly Australian tour because the Australian productions and tours ran from 1990-1991, 1994, and 1996-1998. So this is in fact the Australian leg of the First World Tour.
@colliric4 жыл бұрын
@@dianadechagny The 2007 Australian Production and it's actors and sets were repurposed for the second half of the World Tour in order to justify the expense of staging the full production in Australia and New Zealand. Anthony Warlow reprised his famous 1990 performance as the Phantom in the 2007-2008 Australian tour, but he was later replaced when it was decided that the Australian version would continue on as the relief cast for the second half of the world tour, and the sets would be repurposed. You are both correct. This cast began as the 2007 Melbourne Australian cast with Warlow in the lead, but later became the relief cast of the second half of the World Tour. Australian productions often continue into world tours, sometimes as the relief cast and renewed sets, to support the cost of staging expensive shows in Australia and NZ, countries that do not have large populations. The same thing happened with the 2014 Australian production of Les Miserables. It was decided during the production that it's cast and sets were going to be reused to relieve the then current World Tour cast who needed a break.

I saw the national tour in San Diego 2008. It was amazing and my first ever Broadway. It is much better than the Gerard Butler movie. The costumes and set are what I love about the show.
@lamisere83374 жыл бұрын
Is it just me or do the Hannibal costumes look, er, less opulent? And the color scheme seems to be more bold than usual; rusty reds and browns, earthy greens. And there is less noticeable sparkle in Carlotta's while the wire hoops that push her dress out are far more noticeable. Hmmm.

@dianadechagny6 жыл бұрын
yes it was!
@colliric4 жыл бұрын
@@dianadechagny Australia was not one of the World Tour stops, it is the 2007 Australian Tour however that formed the basis of the later world tour which re-used the sets and some cast members as the relief cast for the World Tour second half. But actually Anthony Warlow reprised his famous 1990 portrayal of the Phantom in the 2007-8 Australian tour. He was replaced when it was decided the production was to be adapted into the relief for the world tour, and obviously didn't do the role in Brisbane (last Australian stop). Australian & NZ Tours of major musicals often form the basis of World Tour productions or relief casts to justify the expense of staging the show in Australia. The 2014 Australian & NZ tour of Les Miserables also later continued into a subsequent world tour.
