He's not a terrible Phantom. Henk Poort is AWESOME, but unless you've seen Franc live, it's hard to tell how good his Phantom is. His acting is friggin excellent.

i thought you talked about the 2004 film, based on the musical with gerad butler as the phantom. i have to add, that i love the original book AND the lon chaney film (1938 i guess).

@tauren4ever The movie came out well after the original stage production and subsequently ruined the arias with the cast's lack of vocal ability, technique and talent.

movie: the makeup was stupid, gerad butler can't sing, the titelsong was cut (!?!?!?!?) and there are a billion other things to blame. Musical: genius makeup, brilliant actors and awsome voices and no cut's at all (exept for vegas, but thats okay) --> movie worse than musical. the musical is a masterpiece. but of course this is just my opinion. if you like the movie thats okay :)

i hate gerard butler he just ruind the hole phantom of the opera movie and he makes the phantom look like a monster but hes not just people dont get him
