emotivist realism? :) Pardon my misuses of terminology. I'm neither a philosopher nor an architect; But people keep bringing up modern, brutalist, cubist, w/e architecture as examples of degradation of beauty. And I always think, surely there are better examples, do people really hate them that much? When I come across modernist buildings, I feel them almost reaching out. Perhaps the slump house exhibits life in it's many imperfections, signifiers and reminders of organic life, but the architecture of modernist buildings feels like an organism in itself. Indeed, I feel as if I'm in communion with it. Perhaps it is alien life, but on some days I would pick the photo on the right. (Still, of course I do see and love life in everyday moments of solace, nature, and other similar examples brought up. I agree with the general point! Just not the architecture example I think...)
