I think it would be worth to mention that plasma sample must be put on ice immediately after collecting it, because catecholamines and metanephrines in blood break down very quickly. Collecting it without ice usually leads to false negative in case one has a secreting tumor. Many labs do the test without ice. As a result, we get useless sample and wrong or delayed diagnosis. Ice is much more important than supine position. Please emphasize it in such presentations, maybe we will change that horrible mistake.
