I always read comments about Sergei gaining weight. I think it’s rude to comment on someone’s weight. I know Filipinos like to do that but that is rude to foreigners. I think it’s okay that he gained a little bit of weight. He quit smoking, and he swims everyday. They walk a lot too. They eat lots of fruits. He is healthier than before. Gaining weight is also normal for people who quit smoking. Gaining weight is not always bad. Papa Sergei, you look good! Stay healthy!

Apart from cultural or social etiquette reasons, I agree that commenting about it is wrong and gaining weight doesn't always mean a bad thing. Of course there is too much weight gained but the notion of gaining weight is automatically unhealthy for everyone is just plain wrong. Same as being thin doesn't mean being healthy. If one is thin because of lack of proper nutrients then that's unhealthy too.

Sergey, I congratulate you on successfully stopping with smoking for more than 1 month already. It will take time for your lungs to clear up. It happened to my husband. When he stopped smoking, his lungs cleared up within 3 years. When he had a medical checkup, the doctor was surprised and told him his lungs looked like the lungs of a person who never smoked. My husband stopped smoking in 2012. Good luck and continue on that path to healthy lungs and body.

Since Sergei learned that they are going to the Philippines, he dreamed of having a lot of things!! Now that he actually experience the “good” life in the islands, he probably don’t want to go back to Russia but because he got the job there, they have to go! But for sure, after several months, they’ll be back to the Philippines for more dreams on their plates!! Even the kids have a lot of fun in all they do everyday. Im sure, when they get older, they want to live, study and have a good job in the Philippines!! The Philippines is a nice place to be if you have a decent life; good paying job, nice house and a perfect loving family. Sergei, Im glad to hear you quit smoking!! I used to smoke, too, but I quit two years ago and Im really glad that I did. You know you are doing well now that you don’t smoke. I hope you will keep yourself away from cigarettes when you go back to Russia. Buy a lot of fruit candies from the Philippines and bring it with you to take when you go to your work. I pray you can indefinitely quit smoking papa Sergei. I'm a smoker too before, when I went abroad to work I have to quit because it is not allowed at all where I work niw. I gained a lot of weight while in the withdrawal stage and got sick all the time too until my body got rid most of the toxins.. I, too smoked because of stress handling business before in the Philippines, but I will do my best not to resort to smoking again to relieve stress.. ❤ Let's just do our best, Papa Sergei, because our families wants to be with us as long as God allows us.
