"I see beauty as deeply intertwined with purpose and function. A real flower's appeal lies in its role within the ecosystem, its biological purpose, and the fleeting nature of its existence. However, the idea that beauty must be tied to impermanence is a paradigm I challenge. Plastic flowers, while lacking the biological function of real ones, represent our ability to preserve form and utility through innovation. Just as I strive to optimize and extend human life, I believe technology has the power to redefine beauty, detaching it from decay and creating lasting value."

I have no idea why this podcast has only 50k views in the past two days. This is, hands down, one of the best instances of Prakhar articulating himself. The clarity in his speech, the way he structured his thoughts, those well-timed pauses, and his extended points of view-it was simply magnificent. This podcast deserves far more views and appreciation. Truly a masterpiece!

Since prakhar hoped there’d be a part 2, here’s a question I had while listening to this podcast. When Bryan said about meditating and imagining what the people of 21st century look like and almost manifest it, won’t his creation always be biased by his lived experiences and what he / his consciousness seems to be fitting in the 21st century. Unless he drops the idea of morality where in he explores any and all possibilities of the 21st century human . But again as he said the description is not the described(J Krishnamurti ) it might be difficult to get an answer to this in the first place. Thank you Prakhar for bringing him to your show and giving us philosophical souls a great dialogue Best wishes

Bro your podcast gives the real podcast vibe where the guests ease out and talk. Varna aajkal toh log typical interview format ko hi podcast bolke bech rhe h... 2 chair lagake. You just don't ask questions in a set format, you dig down into the conversation and allow the guest to drive the conversation. That's what a real podcast should look like.

From the perspective of Sanatan philosophy, we are all one consciousness and immortal in that sense, which could potentially extend to our physical form. My understanding is that the Atman within Bryan's body-mind suit is exploring the possibility of immortality from a physical standpoint. This is fascinating, especially considering stories of yogis vanishing and performing miracles-suggesting that anything is possible. Essentially, the divine within him is evolving, seeking to experience what it feels like to be immortal while in the body, and there is a deeper reason for that, b'cuz nothing happens without a reason.
@apoorv219Ай бұрын
The pursuit of Siddhis (supernatural abilities) has been a part of spiritual traditions, especially in Hinduism and Buddhism, for centuries. These abilities, such as telepathy, levitation, and others, were often viewed not as end-goals but as distractions in the pursuit of true liberation or spiritual growth. Spiritual masters like those in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, and many Buddhist teachings, emphasized that Siddhis are impermanent and temporary phenomena within samsara, the cycle of birth, death, and rebirth. They ultimately serve to bind individuals to the material world. Therefore, they should not be pursued or indulged in, as they impede the progress of internal change and self-realization, which is the true goal of spiritual practice. In Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhism, as well as in the teachings of modern Hindu masters like Sri Ramakrishna, the focus is on transcending the ego and achieving non dual awareness , not acquiring supernatural powers. For such seekers, attaining Siddhis is seen as a misdirection, a tempting illusion that can obstruct the deeper quest for wisdom and self-liberation. Similarly, the modern-day pursuit of extending life or improving human performance through science-whether through biogerontology or longevity research-parallels these ancient spiritual goals, but with a technological approach. These efforts often focus on methods such as genetic engineering, cell reprogramming, and the use of bio-implantable devices (BIM) to enhance physical and cognitive capabilities, akin to the ancient quest for Siddhis but with a focus on physical and mental enhancement through modern science. These modern technological pursuits, like their ancient counterparts, seek to transcend natural limitations-whether through achieving an extended lifespan or augmenting abilities to superhuman levels. Biogerontology, longevity research, and emerging advancements in technologies like BIM or neuro-enhancement can be viewed as contemporary equivalents to the spiritual Siddhis, with the same potential to distract from the more profound goals of internal transformation and self-realization. Just as Siddhis are seen as obstacles on the path to liberation, these modern advancements must also be approached with caution and awareness. While they offer immense potential, their pursuit, if not rooted in deeper wisdom and purpose, could become yet another form of attachment or distraction. In conclusion, whether through the pursuit of ancient Siddhis or through modern technologies like biogerontology and longevity research, the underlying message remains the same: these advancements, whether physical, cognitive etc. should be observed with respect, but not indulged in for their own sake. The true purpose lies not in the powers or enhancements themselves but in transcending them to achieve higher spiritual growth and ultimately complete cessation of suffering or nirvana.

14:41 Buddha's idea of impermanence is not that "all life is impermanent", but "all is impermanent". Which is to say that all reality essentially is transient and instantaneous. So even in your plastic flower example, the plastic flower is changing at an atomic or subatomic level, so it is not exactly the same thing it was a moment ago.
