I know. Right? I have a Geiger Counter. Not only the height above the Earth's surface via balloon flights (I will have to take their words for that), but during the day too. I've found by actual experiments with my meter. So, Solar Wind, then. I made a small low power "atom smasher," the output of which I checked out with my meter. For those that might be interested: 1, 1 million electron volt is about the energy in 1/2 of one photon of your average photon for the color green. Think in terms of amps and Ohm's Law, where Voltage = current * resistance, per second. Boggle. Who knew? Makes sense, the energy needed for all that yummy photosynthesis going on....
