Caroline Thompson Actually they didn't attribute the quote to Piccard and since it was a phenomenon caused by refraction and known for at least 30 years before he made his flight, he would hardly have said it. Plus the windows on his gondola were in the upper part and he could not have looked directly down anyway.

It is was so awsome that what prof Picard did but sad thing is our Prophet Mohammed (Pbh) told us that when he traveled to above the sky (MIRAGE) he passed a huge sea-ocean and reached the Heaven ....and Picard did that after nearly 1400 years later...
