Huge shift from how high school football was coached (not taught) in the late 60s early 70s. Yes I'm older than dirt. Coaching back then was about (in order) toughness & technique, position responsibilities, basic formations. Plays were fixed diagrams with few adjustments. I played tight end and outside linebacker. The main theme was always about putting the hurt on the guy you were assigned. We got coach points if our assigned player couldn't finish the game. Not good, but that's the way it was done.

This is a genius system especially for high school because 9 out of 10 high school players just don't have the knowledge much less the skill to be able to diagnose plays on the run, especially not on the level of a guy like this coach... Which essentially means he does not have to have more talent than the other team he can out scheme them to death, and by the time they catch on to one set of plays, he can just move on to the next set or begin passing the ball that's the beauty of this his running game is so good that he almost doesn't even need to pass. It's somewhat similar to what the 49ers were doing with amazing run plays and then throwing the ball once you lull the defense to sleep with nonstop effective runs. Very smart. You are basically playing on the opposite team's coach, NOT having coached his players on responsibilites, and you just cannot make game changes on the fly like that you basically have to practice like that to be ready for these kind of plays.

Great to see the blurriness discussed. So often presentations of plays make them seem like easy decisions when in game they are frequently blurry as you say

Even the extra details like this guy could bend the rules or we changed the rules for this defender helped bring it as a more real thing.

JT put this in with my HS team. It is so money and easy to put in. My guys love it. We ran PNP last year. The varsity guys really like the new rules. Even my incoming freshman were executing PNP in about 5 minutes.

In that (mali) kenya vs even jet sweep play - you have the RT blocking the DE showing outside shade. Doesn't that go away from the rule?

Why do you use Head Up-Gap Down? Personally I think Gap Down - On (shoulder tip to shoulder tip) would lead to less negative plays. I love your stuff, just want a full rules explanation.

My head o-line coach is a little set in his ways, but I think changing our rules to mirror yours would be beneficial!

What rollerball mouse are you using? Or it looks like a rollerball mouse for video playback. I didn’t see it in your equipment list…

What if the LB's cheat up to occupy the potential pullers but then bail out and shoot a different gap or pull out and chase the play down. Would that leave your linemen that had him "Head up" out of the play wirh Noone to block. Pretty much tricking him to not pull? This system seems amazing. As someone who coached HS myself if I had to defend this system it seems like bluff Blitz's, stunts and presnap movement to cause the line to commit to one guy but then him shift or shoot a different gap would be my best defense.

Hey so not really related to this video, but I do have a question. I never played organized football above pee-wee (k-5th grade) but I’ve always been a huge fan, I love football. I watch your channel a lot bc I find the nuances of football very interesting. How would a guy like me get into coaching?? Thank you! Loved the vid.

So the pin and pull is a sideline play, would that mean a HB off tackle is a pin and pull play?
