Absolutley 100% and I agree totally underrated (I think the USA had handed Portnoy's drumming accolades out to many times, At least Gavin took Prog Drummer of the year away from Mike a few years back). Been to two of his drum clinics, and he is a down to earth regular dude, very kind, answers even the most simple questions from new drummers totally professionally. After the clinic he comes off stage, hangs around for hours talking and meeting with you and others in the crowd. Totally inspired me to keep on Prog drumming)

For sure ! Another GREAT band stupidly snubbed by deaf or "snobbish" music critics.......... Even the fab' Steven Wilson's Music continues to be ignored or unloved by many of them... Btw, talking about Riverside, I don't know what Mariuz Duda & partners will do now, without Piotr Grudzinski, but I hope they'll find a way to involve themselves in new projects, that could help to mourn his death together... Thanks for your answer, 'man ! :)

Didn't even know Gavin Harrison was on this record until I heard it and thought to myself "that sounds an awful lot like Gavin Harrison". You know you're a brilliant drummer with a unique style when that happens. This album is one of my favourite The Pineapple Thief releases to date, absolutely gorgeous.

His performance on the next album is even better. Probably because he co-wrote most of it

Kind of how TOOL is unique. You recognize certain sounds that pinetrate the soul. While Maynard has many bands, his voice and style of writing is evident. Just as The Pineapple Thief is... amazing artists due to being unique plus touching the soul (relatable). In fact, NIN and TOOL have been my top favs among others until discovering TPT. Porcupine Tree came LONG before Stephen Wilson or TPT

Obviously Gavin's drumming brings something fresh to the music. I'd also like to mention Bruce's lovely understated vocals on this one, and the fantastic lyrics. The lyric concept on this album looks like it's going to be the most cohesive and moving piece the band have ever done.

This band has, ever since their humble beginnings, never ceased to amaze me with the originality and quality of their progressive rock song writing and composing. Add to this the beautifully crafted music of Soord's albums... And to top it all off, add Gavin Harrison's drum dexterity, nuance, and power, you've got a receipe for a truly remarkable album coming. Hold on to your seats folks, and staple your hats... this album will be a tremendous hit and will blow your shorts off! Already bought the magnificent case package coming soon... Great work TPT guys!!!! I'm one of your strong supporters, and will continue to be! Cheers, and be well.

I lost count of how many times I have listened to this song and specially to this final solo. The guitar feels so tragic and the whole solo feels like something that is going down in flames towards its end and there is no other possible way. It's really beautiful and the scenes in the video match the feeling. Its amazing. I cried so many times with this final sequence. One of my favorite guitar solos all time together with Confortably Numb and Arriving Somewhere But Not Here. Incredible

@Gattobuono Жыл бұрын
@@alessandromariani99 Ok. Hard to know on the internet if people are joking or not. Personally I don't find them that similar, they just seem to be conveniently lumped together under the so called 'prog rock' heading. I kind of like Porcupine Tree but don't like Steve Wilson. I find him pretty arrogant. Plus some of their material is way to similar to things that I was listening to in the 70's, especially early Genesis. The Pineapple Thief are also interesting, but pretty much all of their tracks have the same melancholy 'lost love' type of theme, which gets tedious after a while. There are lots of other bands that I'd rather listen to, who really deserve the title 'progressive'. 🙂
