When I was.. 5-6.. I distinctly remember watching this back in '82. There was something amazing... about watching a cartoon with no voices. All you had was Manici's music and a VERY CHOICE, few pieces of sound. That.. was it. Made the show opening, the show itself.. and even the ending... like nothing else.

Slink Pink and the three Pink Panther cartoons from 1969 before it are all excellent and among the better Pink Panther cartoons in general. The animation is still in the charming simple drawing style the Pink Panther cartoons are mostly drawn elegantly with pretty colours. The music fits with the action without much fault and the slinky jazziness of it is most appealing. The theme tune of course is a classic, and hasn’t gotten old. The gags are hilarious and beautifully matched by the visuals and music. The part where the dog attacks his owner thinking it’s Pinky and then tries to make it up to him is the best part. The story is one of the cleverest and most original of any of the stories for the Pink Panther cartoons, and all the way through it has a lot of energy. Pinky has great comic timing and hasn’t lost any of his coolness or likability. The dog is a funny foil and you do feel sorry for him. His owner the hunter is Slink Pink’s weakest character in comparison to Pinky and the dog, his role really is to punish the dog for every time the dog tries to warm him, the thing is though it is something he does do well without being too brutal. To sum up, Slink Pink is a gem, one of the funniest and cleverest Pinky cartoons and one of the better ones too

This is SO like the actions of a real pet Dog when they KNOW something is wrong but just can’t convince their Owners! I love how the Dog turns almost human in behavior, when picking up the stick and taps the Panther to check it isn’t real - looking as if reading the plaque that says it was killed when his Master points at it; watching through the window from outside holding on with one paw like a hand on the sill as if to steady himself, and holding the Rifle - hilarious!
