While the story is a little routine and repetitive Pink Pictures is a good Pink Panther cartoon, and I found it an improvement on the previous cartoon Therapeutic Pink and other two cartoons of 1976. The animation is one of the improvements with the exception of the under-sized and scrappily down cliff top and an animal that I wasn’t sure whether it was meant to be a big dog or a bear. The colours are warmer and livelier (bigger variety too) and the backgrounds while simple are detailed and not sparse. The theme tune is still timeless and Steve De Patie’s music is a worthy replacement for Walter Greene and Bill Lava, it’s not as subtle or as slinky but it is sure has a lot of energy and wasn’t too overbearing. The visual gags aren’t the most original- like with the woodpecker- and the outcomes are not surprising (apart from perhaps the frog and alligator gag) but are very funny and it was nice to see a variety of animals rather than just one character battling Pinky. Pinky oozes coolness and likability, and he has great comic timing without even saying a word, you do feel sympathy for him as well. The animals are good foils too except for the skunk who makes his characteristic mark on the set, when the panther decides to shoot a flower instead. In conclusion, not mind-blowing but a good one and better than the previous cartoons

I will never understand why the pink panther doesn't run to the side of the lake or pond, instead of running the length of the body of water? You can see the shortest distance of the body of water is to the right side, because you can see how much closer it is on the right side the scenery as he is running the length of it and all he has to do is turn right or maybe left? But it doesn't show the scenery on the left side.
