Nobody's doing it like her at that time, the autenticity of many influences, it feels they were under the radar but untouchable. Something i notice now in the alternative pop industry is that everyone is trying to have a 2000/2010s "moment" without a sound as they tend to forget the experimental part of it, even the fun which is worse bc you can't just emulate and sample whatever and not end of being a copy of another, not everything was generic shopping-store bs (or said in nice words, art shouldn't be a product). I still like pop, not much like I used to tho.
